Spoiler Alert

Ji Bozai is finally starting to catch feelings, and Ming Yi just stumbled upon a conspiracy that could blow everything wide open. Things are getting good.

Situ Ling is Not Handling This Well

We start with Situ Ling. He storms back to his place and confronts Fu Yue. He is furious. He wants to know why she never told him Ming Yi was getting married. Fu Yue tries to play it off. She says she just didn't want to see him get hurt.

Situ Ling is not buying it for a second. He has made a decision. He's going to break Ming Yi's "Li Hen Tian" curse. He's even ready to abandon his own lifelong quest for the "Huang Liang Meng" to do it. He tells Fu Yue that Ming Yi is the only good thing in his very long, lonely life. He would do absolutely anything for her.

Fu Yue just listens, completely heartbroken. Before she leaves, she drops a truth bomb on him. She points out that his old feelings of respect for Ming Yi's brother have twisted into something else entirely. He's in love with her, and it's tearing him apart.

A Very Awkward Morning After

Over at the newlyweds' place, Ji Bozai finally wakes up. It’s late. Granny Xun is there to tease him. She says it's normal for a new husband to sleep in and brings him a special breakfast of oysters and chives to "keep his strength up." You know what she means.

Bu Xiu, his ever-loyal but grumpy subordinate, just complains about his boss being lazy. This leads Granny Xun to explain a local tradition for couples. They have to find a lucky spot on a lucky day and make a wish to the stars. If star rain falls, they get a blessing. Then they carve their names on a special marriage stone.

Bu Xiu thinks this is all a huge waste of time. He reminds everyone this marriage is fake. It's just a means to an end. But Granny Xun sees things differently. She tells Ji Bozai that Ming Yi's feelings are genuine. She thinks he should seriously consider making this a real marriage. Ji Bozai finds their bickering funny, but you can tell he's actually listening to the granny.

The Most Clumsy Date Ever

A Shopping Trip Goes Wrong

That night, Ji Bozai takes Ming Yi out on the town. He goes on a massive shopping spree for her. He buys her jewelry, fine clothes, you name it. It's a sweet gesture. The problem is, he doesn't help her carry any of it.

Soon, Ming Yi is completely buried under a mountain of boxes and bags. She's exhausted. They sit down at a scallion pancake shop, and she finally snaps. She asks him if he ever considered, you know, helping. The look on his face is priceless. The thought had clearly never crossed his mind.

He Finally Says It

The mood gets a little awkward. Ming Yi tries to smooth it over. She asks him to make her a Qiankun Bag and a Ciji Hairpin. These are magical items she used to make for herself. Now, she needs him to craft them so she can use them without raising suspicion.

After he finishes, the vibe changes. Ji Bozai gets serious. He tells her that he's been thinking a lot. He wants to face whatever comes next with her by his side. Then he says it. He tells her that if she is willing, this fake marriage can become a real one.

Ming Yi is just stunned. She stares at him, completely speechless. Ji Bozai waits for a response she can't give. He gets uncomfortable, makes up a quick excuse, and practically runs away.

An Angry Master Comes to Visit

Ming Yi's master, She Tianlin, gets wind of the wedding. He is shocked and angry. He immediately travels to the Wugui Hai to find her. The second he sees her, he starts laying into her. He's clearly furious, but you can also tell he's just incredibly worried.

Ming Yi explains the whole thing. She tells him she only got married as part of her plan to find the Huang Liang Meng. He calms down a little but warns her again not to harm herself by destroying her flower petals. He just wants her to stay alive.

Later, Ji Bozai shows up with a fresh scallion pancake he made for Ming Yi. He doesn't see anyone in the room, so he just leaves it on the table and goes. She Tianlin and his assistant, Twenty-Seven, were hiding and saw the whole thing. She Tianlin realizes Ji Bozai might actually have real feelings for his student. This makes him angry all over again. He wants to go out there and fight him. Then he remembers he's not strong enough to win. He also knows the mission is more important, so he forces himself to stand down.

A Bombshell from Beyond the Grave

Ming Yi goes with Zhang Tai to pay respects at Mu Xinliu's grave. While there, they find something incredible. Mu Xinliu left behind a piece of her consciousness, a kind of magical last testament.

The contents are explosive. It reveals that the villainous Mu Qibai has been secretly raising ancient demon beasts to create his own private army. He's been framing innocent people, throwing them into a place called the Chen Yuan, and using them to create the Li Hen Tian curse. The testimony also confirms he is plotting a rebellion with the Upper Three Realms. It's all out in the open now.

Alliances Shift and Plans Are Made

The evidence mentions Yaoguang Mountain, which is connected to Ji Bozai. Ming Yi is smart. She takes the evidence to her master first. She asks him to magically remove any mention of Yaoguang Mountain before she shows it to Ji Bozai. She doesn't want him caught in the middle of it.

Ji Bozai sees the edited testimony. He immediately begins to form a plan to bring Mu Qibai down for good.

In the meantime, Zhang Tai has left her old life behind. With Ming Yi's help, she starts a small business selling hairpins in the market. She has a chance encounter with Princess Tianji. Ming Yi is surprisingly kind to the princess, and it seems like the tension between them is starting to fade.

The princess then tries to visit her father but is blocked by the guard, Yan Xiao. She accuses him of helping a tyrant, and their argument gets worse. The episode ends with Yan Xiao bringing another character, Meng Yangqiu, to see Mu Qibai. Mu Qibai is mad about Meng Yangqiu's latest screw-up. But then he gets a magical message from someone named Ming Xin. He immediately shifts focus. He needs to find a white cat that once belonged to Ming Xian.
