Episode Summary
Xu Yan quits her job after realizing her boss only wants to use her family connections and gets a lowball salary. She then partners with Qiao Lin's friend to start a new ethnic clothing brand, but they struggle to find customers. Meanwhile, Shen Haoming deals with corruption and local thugs at a construction site, eventually uncovering that the person behind the scheme is an old friend of his father. In the middle of all this, Yu Yiming confesses his feelings for Qiao Lin in front of her ex.

A Boss with an Agenda
So, Xu Yan's new boss, Mr. Qiu, learns a fun fact. He finds out she's married into the super-rich Shen family. His whole attitude does a complete 180. Suddenly, he's her best friend. He asks why she never mentioned her powerful connections. It gets pretty obvious what he really wants. He's trying to use her to get ahead. After a month of work, her paycheck is a measly 1400. He clearly just wants to keep her on the hook for her network. Xu Yan sees right through his ambition. She also wants zero connection to the Shen family. So she takes her tiny paycheck and quits on the spot.

Qiao Lin hears that Xu Yan’s job went up in smoke. She immediately hooks her sister up with a friend. This friend runs a shop for ethnic-style clothing. Xu Yan thinks they'll need time to consider it. But she's wrong. The whole team quits their day jobs right then and there. They're all in on the new venture. Yu Yiming even starts helping them promote the store.
Yu Yiming Makes His Move
Things get complicated for Qiao Lin. Her ex, Lin Tao, shows up again. He starts talking about their shared history. He tries to act pitiful to win her back. Qiao Lin is not having it. She just thinks he's a total mama's boy. She tells him flat out that there is no chance for them. Then Yu Yiming steps right in front of Lin Tao. He blurts out that he likes Qiao Lin. Both Qiao Lin and Lin Tao are completely stunned.

The First Stumble
The new business launches a social media account. It gets almost no followers. Xu Yan realizes they've made a big mistake. Their clothes are too focused on traditional designs. They look great, but they aren't practical. Office workers can't wear them. People can't wear them in their daily lives. She suggests they change the designs slightly. Make them stylish enough for work and everyday activities. That's how they'll attract real customers. The team agrees and gets back to work.
Shen Haoming Digs for Dirt
Shen Haoming takes a break from his own problems. He pops into the livestream to look for Xu Yan but she isn't there. He starts investigating the construction issue instead. He looks into a guy named Wang Defu. Shen Haoming goes to meet him alone. Wang Defu is furious. He thinks Shen Haoming is asking him to pour more money into a project that's already losing. Shen Haoming doesn't give up. He goes straight to Wang Defu's house. It turns out Wang Defu's mom is on Shen Haoming's side. Her support makes Wang Defu calm down and actually listen. Shen Haoming explains his plan. The project will help the local community. It will also make Wang Defu a lot of money. The guy is finally convinced. Later, Shen Haoming uncovers who is protecting the corrupt site manager. It’s an old friend of his father, a man named Lao Zhai. This just got a lot more serious.
