The World's Emptiest Clinic

A Grand Opening to Nobody

The episode kicks off with some good news that quickly turns bad. Bai Hehuai finally opens his new medical clinic. It's much bigger than their last one. They've built up a decent reputation. But on opening day, not a single patient shows up. It's just crickets.

Su Muyu's sister declares she wants to study medicine and become the next "Medicine King." It's a bold goal. Bai Hehuai teases Su Muyu about it. He asks if his sister's ambition gives him any ideas. Su Muyu just jokes that if she becomes the Medicine King, he'll just be the boss of the clinic. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal for him.

An Unwelcome Helper

Tu Wan arrives at the empty clinic. He wants to help his friend promote the place. Bai Hehuai takes one look at him and is completely put off. He thinks Tu Wan is just too ugly. He also gets a bad vibe from him, saying he feels cold to the touch.

Bai Hehuai pulls Su Muyu aside. He says Tu Wan has some serious symptoms. He drags Tu Wan into a room and diagnoses him with kidney deficiency. Then he just gives him some medicine and sends him on his way. It's a pretty brutal way to get rid of someone you don't want around.

An Unexpected Party

Old Friends and New Faces

Su Changhe shows up next. He overhears Bai Hehuai calling himself a bad guy. Su Changhe playfully threatens him with his Yama Palm technique. Su Muyu has to step in and tell him to knock it off before he scares everyone.

Su Changhe laughs and powers down. He says he invited some people to celebrate the clinic's opening. He also brought a big gift. Just then, Mu Qingyang and Mu Xuewei walk in. Su Changhe jokes about Mu Xuewei. He says she isn't very useful since she's not poisonous. But he heard from Mu Qingyang that she's talented with mechanisms and formations. So, she can stay.

Mu Qingyang boasts that he knows formations and Mu Xuewei is well-read. He claims that together, they are an unbeatable team. Bai Hehuai immediately picks up on the fact that Mu Qingyang has a crush on Mu Xuewei.

A Prince and His Past

The Reunion

The story then shifts to the Prince of Langya. He's looking at his sword and thinking about the past. He tells a friend that someone he's been expecting has finally arrived. He knows he has to face what's coming.

That person is Situ Xue. Their meeting is incredibly tense. She immediately tells him his poetry has gotten worse over the years. She says her master told her a choice can only be made once. She is willing to give him one more chance. Then the Prince drops a bomb. He tells her he is dying. You can see the news hits her hard, even though she tries to hide it.

The Prince has one last request. He's worried about a child named Ling Chen. He asks Situ Xue to take the child and leave this place if he dies. She agrees and walks away, trying to look strong.

How It All Fell Apart

As she leaves, the Prince has a flashback. We see how they first met. He was a carefree wanderer in the martial world. He met Situ Xue, who was bold and impulsive. She jumped into a river to cool off and even brazenly asked him to marry her.

The problems started when she took him to meet her father. That's when she discovered his secret. He was a prince. Situ Xue is a woman of the Jianghu, the martial world. She wanted nothing to do with the royal court. She broke up with him on the spot.

He didn't give up. He followed her around, trying to get her to forgive him. She gave him an ultimatum. He had one year to spend at court while she traveled the Jianghu. But the time and distance just pushed them further apart. He got tied up in his duties and couldn't leave.

Dark River's Big Ask

Back in the present, we see the Grand Prince plotting. He's with Xu Liuyun. He wants to use Xu Liuyun to kill the Prince of Langya.

The Prince of Langya is late for his meeting with Su Changhe and Su Muyu. He was delayed by his talk with Situ Xue. Su Changhe is getting angry. He thinks the Prince is blowing them off. But the Prince arrives just in the nick of time.

Su Muyu gets straight to the point. He explains why they need his help. The assassins of Dark River want to live normal lives. They want to be able to walk in the sunlight without hiding. They need the Prince's cooperation to make that happen. Su Changhe adds that he wouldn't even bother with a mere prince if it weren't for his brother, Su Muyu. Su Muyu sincerely pleads with the Prince of Langya to work with them.
