Episode Summary
In this episode, Tang Lianyue is poisoned and paralyzed while trying to stop Tang Linghuang. Su Muyu discovers the Prince of Langya's plan to use Dark River. Su Changhe emerges from his training having mastered a dangerous technique and is furious about the attacks on his organization, immediately threatening to kill The Grand Prince.

A Very Bad Decision
The episode opens right in the middle of the chaos. Tang Lianyue sees Tang Linghuang about to do something terrible. She rushes forward to stop her "senior brother" from making another mistake. Mu Yumo yells for her to stay back. She warns her not to touch him. But the warning comes too late.
Tang Lianyue gets hit with a poison palm strike from Tang Linghuang. Night Raven watches this all go down with a smug look. He tells Tang Lianyue that the poison will paralyze her completely. Her internal strength means nothing now. She can't move. As Mu Yumo watches in horror, Mu Qingyang and Mu Xuewei grab her and drag her away from the danger zone. They know when to run. Night Raven also mentions that Tang Lianyue was clever. She almost avoided the trap but got hit because she noticed other people hiding nearby.
The Prince's Gambit
Su Muyu goes to meet with the Prince of Langya. He knows the Prince trusts him a lot right now. The Prince confesses something surprising. He says that sometimes he feels too weak to protect the people he cares about. He wants Su Muyu's help. That's when it clicks for Su Muyu. The Prince has been planning to use the Dark River organization this whole time. This was his endgame.
Old Grudges and New Ambitions
We get a little insight into Xiao Yong's motivations. He's desperate to get justice for his mother. His father neglected her for years, which led to her dying from depression. After growing up, Xiao Yong realized his uncle was the only person in the world who truly cared for him. When Xiao Yong tells Haoyue they need to cut down their enemies and seize power, Haoyue looks secretly pleased.
Back in the middle of the drama, Su Muyu wants to stay behind and handle the fallout. He wants to help people escape the conflict. But Bai Hehuai steps in. He says the poison is connected to his Medicine King Valley. They have a duty to stay and clean up this mess.
Love, Jealousy, and a Bold Confession
Everyone knows Mu Yumo has a thing for Tang Lianyue. The Prince of Langya even teases her about it. But Mu Yumo does something unexpected. She declares that she's not into Tang Lianyue anymore. She says she now likes bold men, like the Prince himself. This bold statement makes the Prince cough in surprise.
Tang Lianyue happens to be within earshot. She hears the Prince give Mu Yumo permission to pursue other royals if she finds a good match. This makes Tang Lianyue incredibly jealous. It seems her feelings for Mu Yumo are much stronger than she lets on.
A Father's Power and a Final Wish
Li Hanyi pays the Prince of Langya a visit. She can tell something is wrong. He's not the ambitious man he used to be. He seems defeated, almost like he's preparing his will.
Elsewhere, Su Zhe has a serious talk with Su Muyu. He tells him to focus on healing his old injuries. Su Zhe knows from his own past in battle that old wounds can get you killed by a stronger opponent. He also reminds Su Muyu that his daughter chose him. He needs Su Muyu to be healthy enough to protect her. Su Muyu just brushes it off, saying he has his own plans.
Su Zhe gets frustrated. Seeing no other way, he decides to transfer his own internal energy into Su Muyu. He tells him to use the power to take care of his daughter and get far away from this chaotic world. Su Zhe admits he once thought about staying in Dark River. But then he found love, and realized that was worth more than anything. Outside, Bai Hehuai watches his father sacrifice his own energy for Su Muyu and is clearly upset.
The Master of the Flame Demon Palm Returns
Su Changhe is finally done with his training. He has mastered the Flame Demon Palm. The moment he emerges, The Grand Prince's men are there to take him away. Su Changhe learns a critical piece of information. The versions of the Flame Demon Palm that other families possess are all modified. Dark River has the original, true version. The catch is that using it causes a serious backlash to the user.
Xiao Yong arrives to update him on everything that happened while he was gone. Su Changhe becomes enraged. He feels that his enemies broke the rules. They attacked Dark River and hurt his brothers while he was in seclusion. Xiao Yong thinks Su Changhe is just being difficult and blaming the wrong people.
Su Changhe's anger boils over. He turns to Zhuo Qing and asks a simple question. Can he use his new power to kill The Grand Prince, Xiao Yong, right here and now? Zhuo Qing's response is chilling. He says that in the past, he would have stopped him. But now, he might not.
