Episode Summary
Ran Ran is diagnosed with leukemia, but no family members are a match. Qiao Zhengjun is arrested for corruption and has a mental breakdown. Liu Tianyao discovers Nuan Nuan is Qiao Zhengjun's daughter and begs for her help, but Sheng Xuezhu refuses. After Yu Leshan wakes up from his coma, he advises Nuan Nuan to make her own choice. Nuan Nuan agrees to donate her stem cells and is a match for Ran Ran. The series ends with Yu Leshan recovered, the family whole, and Sheng Xuezhu announcing she is pregnant.

A Double Dose of Hospital Drama
This episode kicks off with a lot of time spent in sterile hospital hallways. It feels like two different shows are happening at once. On one side, you have Nuan Nuan visiting Yu Leshan. He's still in a coma. She sits by his bed and begs him to wake up, crying her eyes out. It's pretty heartbreaking to watch. He doesn't move at all.
Ran Ran's Diagnosis
Then you have the other major medical crisis. Ran Ran gets diagnosed with leukemia. It’s a gut punch for everyone. The doctors caught it early, though. They suggest a hematopoietic stem cell transplant from a close relative. So, the whole family troops in to get tested. Qiao Zhengjun, Zhao Xianzhi, Liu Dasheng, Shao Jie, and Liu Tianyao all give samples.
While this is happening, Ran Ran gets scared and wanders out of his room. Nuan Nuan happens to find him outside the hospital. She tries to coax him back inside. Just then, a frantic Zhao Xianzhi runs up. She hears Sheng Xuezhu call the girl "Nuan Nuan," and you can see the gears turning in her head. She freezes for a second.
Yu Leshan's Long Sleep
Sheng Xuezhu basically lives at the hospital now. She spends all her free time by Yu Leshan's side. She just talks to him constantly. Seventeen days pass. He still hasn't woken up. She gets really scared. She's terrified he might never come back. She holds his hand and tells him how much she needs him.
Later, she has a full-on nightmare while sitting in his room. She dreams that he suddenly goes into cardiac arrest. Doctors rush in. They try everything, but they can't save him. She wakes up in a cold sweat, completely shaken.
The Walls Close In on Qiao Zhengjun
Qiao Zhengjun’s terrible life choices are finally catching up to him. A reporter from Beijing has officially reported him for corruption. On top of that, Accountant Li goes to the head of the construction company. He reports Qiao Zhengjun for embezzling public funds and brings solid proof. The guy is completely cornered.
A Secret Daughter Revealed
Back at the hospital, the test results for Ran Ran come back. It's bad news. No one in the immediate family is a match. The doctors suggest they try to find a match with Ran Ran's cousins.
This sends Zhao Xianzhi straight to Qiao Zhengjun. She tells him they need to ask Nuan Nuan to save Ran Ran. Qiao Zhengjun refuses. He can't handle it. He's already in deep trouble at work. He says that if it comes out he abandoned a biological daughter, he'll be totally finished.
Liu Tianyao overhears this entire conversation. She finally understands that Nuan Nuan is Qiao Zhengjun's daughter. She is furious. She walks right up to him and slaps him across the face.
The Arrest
Just as this family drama explodes, men in suits show up. They are from the Disciplinary Committee. They are there to arrest Qiao Zhengjun and take him away for investigation. Zhao Xianzhi just stands there, completely stunned.
The stress of it all completely breaks Qiao Zhengjun. He develops psychosis and ends up in a psychiatric hospital. He just wanders the yard, waving his arms and talking nonsense. Later, Zhao Xianzhi visits him, his own hair having turned white from stress. Qiao Zhengjun has moments of clarity where he screams that Zhao Xianzhi is a bad person before breaking down crying.
A Moral Dilemma for Nuan Nuan
With Qiao Zhengjun out of the picture, Liu Tianyao goes to Sheng Xuezhu herself. She begs her to let Nuan Nuan get tested to save Ran Ran.
A Mother's Refusal
Sheng Xuezhu says no. She knows her daughter has a good heart. She knows Nuan Nuan would never let someone die if she could help. But Sheng Xuezhu refuses to put that kind of weight on a child. She walks away, leaving Liu Tianyao crying her eyes out. Sheng Xuezhu feels conflicted, though. She sees Liu Tianyao taking Ran Ran home from the hospital and it clearly bothers her.
Nuan Nuan's Choice
Sheng Xuezhu talks it over with Yu Leshan, who has finally woken up. He gives her some simple advice. Tell Nuan Nuan the truth and let her make her own decision. So, Yu Leshan sits down with Nuan Nuan for a talk.
Nuan Nuan is torn. She absolutely despises Qiao Zhengjun. But she can't stand the thought of letting his son die. Yu Leshan gently suggests she should save the boy. In the end, Nuan Nuan agrees. She goes to the hospital and gets tested. It's a perfect match. She immediately calls Liu Tianyao with the good news. Sheng Xuezhu tells Nuan Nuan how proud she is.
New Beginnings and Final Endings
This episode wraps up a lot of loose ends, since it's the series finale.
Yu Leshan Wakes Up
The best news comes when Yu Leying is watching over her brother. She sees his hand twitch. She screams for Sheng Xuezhu, who had just left the room. Sheng Xuezhu rushes back. She leans in close and calls his name. Yu Leshan's eyes finally open. It's an incredibly emotional moment.
A Family Made Whole
Everyone comes to visit Yu Leshan now that he's awake. Sheng Bijie and Bai Yufei even show up with a big red envelope. It's a traditional gift for when you officially start calling your in-laws "mom" and "dad." Yu Leshan calls them his parents on the spot. Then, Nuan Nuan looks at him and calls him "dad" for the first time. He smiles and gives the red envelope to her.
Yu Leshan gets out of the hospital and jumps right back into work. He manages to sell all the company's backlogged shampoo. The manager is so impressed that he promotes Yu Leshan to sales manager.
The Final Scene
The show ends with our main trio. Yu Leshan, Sheng Xuezhu, and Nuan Nuan go hiking together. They are laughing and talking, a happy little family. They make it to the top of the mountain.
Sheng Xuezhu turns to Yu Leshan with a huge smile. She tells him she's pregnant. He is absolutely ecstatic. He says he already has two names picked out for her to choose from. He pulls her and Nuan Nuan in close, talking about taking a new family photo and dreaming about their future as a family of four.
