Spoiler Alert
A Plan with Too Many Moving Parts
So, Wangquan Fugui and Quan Rumu have a plan for the Blue Sky Convention. It sounds simple enough on paper. Rumu will enter the competition. His job is to stall for as long as possible. While he’s busy, Fugui will sneak into Xiyun Zhai to rescue the prisoners. Fugui makes it clear to Rumu that he has to hold out until he gets back.
Fugui heads to Xiyun Zhai with Qingtong and the two Lu brothers. Lu Qiba is a complete clown the entire way. He keeps asking Fugui to read his fortune. It’s not exactly a stealthy vibe. Nobody knows what they’re walking into. Qingtong offers to go in first to scout things out.
Everything Goes Wrong
This is where the whole plan just falls apart. It turns out everyone was walking into a massive setup.
The Fight in the Arena
Rumu gets into the ring and immediately knows something is wrong. He remembers taking a pill. Now he feels an overwhelming urge to kill. He’s not just fighting. He’s trying to murder his opponents. He’s already seriously injured five people.
The Trap at Xiyun Zhai
Qingtong puts on a dancer's outfit and slips inside the villa. She searches everywhere but can't find the entrance to the cellar. Fugui has to get creative. He smears dirt all over Lu Qiba's face. Then Qingtong presents him as a captured demon she needs to lock up. This trick gets her deeper inside.
But it was all a trap. Quan Jingting knew all about Rumu’s secret meetings with Fugui. He’s the one who gave Rumu the pill. And his target was never the "Weapon Humans." He wants Wangquan Hongye dead. On top of that, Wangquan Shouyi has his own scheme. He’s been keeping a demon king to use against Fugui.
Qingtong's cover is blown. The head dancer reveals herself to be the demon king. She’s a master of creating clones. She also uses a poison mist that messes with your senses. Fugui arrives just in time to save Qingtong. To help him win, Qingtong takes a serious hit. She reveals she knew something was off earlier. She secretly attached a spider thread to the demon king's wrist. This small detail helps Fugui finally kill the monster.
With the demon king dead, Fugui puts it all together. Jingting’s real target is Hongye. He has to get back to the arena now. He tells Qingtong to take care of herself and flies off on his sword.
A Betrayal Unfolds
Back at the competition, Rumu is losing control. Jingting pushes him harder, fueling his bloodlust. He forces Rumu to go for the kill against Wangquan Hongye. Hongye can barely defend himself.
Suddenly, Fugui appears. Jingting is stunned. He angrily asks Shouyi why Fugui is still alive. Fugui senses the powerful demonic energy coming off Rumu. He uses the divine fire from his Dongfang family bloodline to suppress it. He refuses to let Rumu become a monster.
The fire works. Rumu spits out the pill and collapses. Just as everyone lowers their guard, Shouyi pulls a knife. He lunges at the distracted Hongye. But Jingting intercepts the attack. He blocks the knife and kills Shouyi with his own move.
Jingting immediately starts playing the victim. He confesses he bought the pill from Shouyi. He claims he just wanted to win and had no idea about the larger conspiracy. He had already planted a matching talisman on Shouyi's body, perfectly framing him for the whole thing. As penance, Jingting asks to be locked away in the Sword Tomb. This is just a ploy to let him stay at the Wangquan Mountain Villa. Hongye agrees and has him taken away.
A Promise and a Name
Rumu is going to be fine. He just needs to rest. Hongye cancels the rest of the competition.
Qingtong was worried sick about Fugui. She rushes back to see him. She’s so relieved when she finds him unharmed. Fugui quiets her down. He points out that they aren't alone. Rumu is in the room, watching them with amusement.
Rumu decides to stir the pot. He tells Qingtong that Fugui will lose ten years of his life for turning her into a human. She turns to Fugui and asks him why he would do that for her. He tells her he would have done the same for any living creature in need.
This is all Qingtong needs to hear. She is deeply moved. She decides to stay by his side forever to repay his kindness. In life, she will be his. In death, she will be his "Little Spider."
Fugui then gives her a proper name. He calls her Qingtong. It is because she has clear eyes (Qing) and pupils (Tong) that can see the truth of the world.
