Episode Summary

The Factory Internship Begins
The episode kicks off with Zhao Youzuo in his own head again. He thinks Xun Weilai is only being nice to him out of pity. He believes Xun Weilai is trying to avoid repeating past mistakes.
Then, Xun Weilai has an allergic reaction to some food. Luo Aiwen jumps in and gets him medicine right away. As he takes it, Xun Weilai gets a little sentimental. He hopes their friendship stays this simple and good for years to come.
Soon, it's time for the big internship. The students arrive at the machinery factory. Luo Aiwen's dad, Director Luo, gives a welcome speech. Xun Weilai grabs the DV camera and starts filming. He focuses on Wang Yiman first, then hands the camera off to Luo Aiwen to finish up.
A Fish Out of Water
Wang Yiman nervously puts on the work uniform. She's worried she won't look convincing as a factory worker. Xun Weilai comes over to help. He teaches her some of the technical terms they use on the floor. He also complains about the factory conditions and the bad food.
He then sets up an old-timer to train Wang Yiman. She has never done this kind of work before. Her movements are clumsy. But she doesn't give up. She grits her teeth and keeps trying. The veteran worker gives her a hard time. But then something clicks. She suddenly gets it. She not only finishes her task but does it perfectly. The old worker is genuinely impressed.
A Staged Accident?
Director Luo records a segment for their video. He tells the story of how he started the factory. He used to drive a truck day and night. He was so exhausted he almost crashed. A hitchhiker named Ah Rong helped him out. Ah Rong drove for a while so he could rest. To show his gratitude, he named the company Ai Rong Machinery Factory.
Suddenly, a supervisor runs into the office in a panic. A worker is caught in a machine. Director Luo rushes to the workshop and saves the guy. But something feels off to Zhao Youzuo. The way the worker talks and acts seems fake. He starts to suspect the whole thing was an act.
The Whistleblower Video
Xun Weilai, Zhao Youzuo, and Luo Aiwen leave the workshop. They run into a drunk employee. This same employee gets on camera and unloads. He accuses Director Luo of protecting a corrupt engineer. He says the director ignores the company's best interests. He's angry because he's been at the factory longer than the engineer. But he never got promoted because he's not a suck-up.
Luo Aiwen hears this and gets really mad. She doesn't believe her dad is like that. She wants them to delete the footage. She's worried it will ruin him.
A Father-Daughter Showdown
Luo Aiwen storms off to confront her father. He listens to her and gets serious. He says he was already planning to deal with the engineer. He even wanted to reward the employee who reported it. Luo Aiwen is relieved to hear this. She's proud of her dad's integrity.
But then he tells her to delete the video anyway. This makes Luo Aiwen suspicious all over again. She thinks he might be lying to her. They get into a huge argument. The tension is thick.
The 5 Million Dollar Question
That night, Luo Aiwen and Zhao Youzuo are stuck. They don't know if they should delete the video. Xun Weilai has a different take. He points out that if the video goes viral, they could win the 5 million prize. He says the worst that can happen to Director Luo is a charge for covering things up.
Zhao Youzuo isn't comfortable with that. He doesn't want to destroy the director's reputation without knowing the whole story. He grabs the DV camera and decides to go back to the factory.
The Truth Comes Out
They get to the workshop just in time to see a huge fight. Luo Aiwen is arguing with the engineer, a man named Lin. It turns out, Luo Aiwen knew about Engineer Lin's corruption the whole time. She was turning a blind eye because she thought it was best for the company. She was trying to warn him, like a friend, telling him to stop before he got caught.
The Corrupt Engineer
Engineer Lin is completely arrogant. He looks down on Director Luo's background. He brags that the factory needs his technical skills to survive. He even says the factory would fail if he left. Then he drops a bomb. He has already found a new job somewhere else.
A Father's Wisdom
Zhao Youzuo finally understands the full picture. He walks over and gives the DV camera directly to Director Luo. The director is thankful that his daughter has such good friends.
Xun Weilai feels a wave of guilt. He almost let the 5 million prize money make him betray his friends.
Director Luo then explains a few things. He did fire the whistleblower employee. But he also secretly used his connections to find the guy a much better job. He also shares a personal story about his wife. She helped him during his toughest times, even driving for him when he was exhausted. But she also left him when things got really hard. He uses his story to give Zhao Youzuo four words of advice. "An Zhi Ruo Ming," which means to accept your fate and be at peace with it.
