Episode Summary
In this episode, Xiaoxue decides to trap Zhao Liao in the past to save her job, leading her to delete his data and eventually attack him. In the past, Xun Weilai's meeting with Dr. Yu goes well until a slip-up exposes him, forcing him and Zhao Liao to flee. Meanwhile, Zhao's mom accepts a smaller role, and the romance between Zhao Youzuo and Xu Tutu blossoms. The episode ends with Xiaoxue injecting an unsuspecting Zhao Liao with a pineapple serum, causing him to collapse.

Life Inc. is a Mess
I've got to say, for a company that messes with time, Life Inc. has some serious issues. We learn that triggering their "highest alert" gets you disappeared. This happens if you directly interact with Dr. Yu. It also seems like a damaged contact point is a world-ending problem. You'd think they'd have better protocols.
Xiaoxue's Desperate Plan
Xiaoxue is a customer service rep at the company. She sends her boss, Gao, home to celebrate his daughter's birthday. She offers to stay and work late. It seems nice, but she has her own agenda.
Her real goal is to fix Zhao Liao's broken contact point. She runs into a problem. Gao's security clearance isn't high enough to authorize the fix. Xiaoxue is on a temporary contract. She's worried this mistake will keep her from getting a permanent position.
Then she gets some bad news. The phone booth Zhao Liao uses is scheduled to be demolished the next morning. If that happens, he has no way to call in and complain. So, she makes a pretty cold decision. She decides to delete his travel information. This will trap him in the past for good.
We also find out that Dr. Yu has already left Life Inc. She had a disagreement with her partners. Gao doesn't know this, though. He's still hoping she'll come back and fix things.
Back in the Past
Xun Weilai Meets Dr. Yu
The show jumps back in time. Xun Weilai rushes into a church. He finds Dr. Yu working on her tech. She gives him exactly 30 seconds to make his pitch.
Xun Weilai tells her his movie project might not make money. He says he just wants to prove that time can be extended. This really connects with Dr. Yu. She feels like she's finally found someone who gets it. She agrees to invest in his project.
But as Xun Weilai is leaving, he makes a mistake. He wishes her luck making money from her "time travel" business. This comment makes Dr. Yu suspicious. Zhao Liao is on the phone with Xun Weilai during this. He realizes Dr. Yu is testing him and tells him to get out of there. It's too late. Dr. Yu knows something is off.
Back at Life Inc., an alarm goes off. Xiaoxue panics. She thinks Zhao Liao figured out her plan to trap him in 2008. She assumes he contacted Dr. Yu to trigger an emergency recall. She's terrified he'll return and file a complaint, which would ruin her career. This pushes her to do something even worse. We see her walk over to a colleague's desk.
A Narrow Escape
Xun Weilai's cover is blown. He and Zhao Liao jump in a car and speed away. Dr. Yu watches them go. She makes sure to memorize their license plate number. Then she goes back to her room to check if they stole anything.
Zhao Liao is freaking out in the car. He's worried Dr. Yu heard his voice over the phone. He thinks it might be enough to trigger the recall system. As they drive, they pass the phone booth. They see Xiaoxue walking out of it. They only have six hours left before it's gone.
A Few Loose Ends
Zhao's Mom Finds Peace
Zhao's mom has a heart-to-heart with herself. She decides to give up her dream of being a movie star. She admits she was never a great actress. She only got the lead role because someone pulled strings for her.
She's found that she feels more fulfilled playing a much smaller part. Later, she goes to Zhao Liao's house. She thanks him. She figured out he was the one who secretly helped her. She tells him she's happy just being part of the film industry. It doesn't matter if she's the lead or an extra.
A Schoolyard Date
Zhao Youzuo and Xu Tutu are getting closer. He asks her if she wants to go check out different shops with him regularly. Xu Tutu thinks she must be dreaming. She almost hits herself to wake up, but then she just leans in closer to him.
Their bond really grew while they were acting in scenes with Zhao's mom. Later that night, they sneak onto their old school's athletic field. They have a snowball fight and dodge security cameras. They find the prop room. Inside is a huge snowman prop that Xu Tutu loves. Zhao Youzuo tells her a sweet story about a snowman. They end up sitting in a classroom, and the mood gets a little awkward. A security guard's flashlight sends them running.
Xiaoxue Makes Her Move
Xiaoxue is on a mission. She rushes to a fruit stand, grabs a pineapple, and leaves. She walks right past Zhao Youzuo and Xu Tutu.
Later, Zhao Liao goes to the phone booth to make his scheduled report. The phone just rings and rings. No one picks up. He figures the office is closed for the night and heads home.
This was a huge mistake. As soon as he gets home, Xiaoxue ambushes him. She injects him with something made from pineapple. Zhao Liao is allergic. He immediately passes out.
