Episode Summary
Zhao Liao, an elderly man, hacks into young Zhao Youzuo's computer to set him up on a date with Xu Tutu. The adult Xun Weilai, who is living as Youzuo, becomes suspicious of Zhao Liao and confirms he's from the future. Weilai tries to alter his friends' romantic futures at a movie theater while also attempting to set his younger self up with a different girl. This brings him into direct conflict with Zhao Liao, who locks him in a bathroom to stop him. In the final confrontation, Weilai discovers that Zhao Liao is actually his own much older self.

A Hacked Date and a Nosy Neighbor
The Set-Up
The episode kicks off with Zhao Liao. He’s the mysterious old guy living next door. He looks exhausted while scrolling on his computer. He sees Xu Tutu chatting away in a group chat. Just then, he hears his neighbor, Zhao Youzuo, leave to go buy something.
This gives Zhao Liao an idea. He hacks into Youzuo’s computer. He pretends to be Youzuo and asks Xu Tutu out on a date. Then he covers his tracks. He deletes the sent messages so Youzuo won't see them. Youzuo gets home and is surprised to see a message from Tutu. She's agreeing to a date he never asked for. He feels too awkward to just say no.
A Glimpse of the Future
The next day, we're with our main guy, Xun Weilai. Remember, he's traveled back in time to his high school days. He's currently living as his younger self, Zhao Youzuo. His friend, Chen Ming, is bragging. He claims he's going to invent a piece of software. It will handle everything in life. Payments, shopping, all of it.
Weilai has a strange flash of the future. He sees Chen Ming’s tombstone. It has a QR code on it. I guess that’s one way to make things "smart."
Later, Youzuo invites Weilai over to his house. He's clearly nervous around his own father. When they get inside, they find Zhao Liao is there too. Weilai’s memory of the past is sharp. He knows for a fact this guy, Zhao Liao, was never his neighbor. He immediately gets suspicious.
Zhao Liao’s phone rings. A business card slips out of his pocket. Weilai spots it. The card is for a company called "Life Inc." This confirms Weilai's theory. He figures Zhao Liao must be from the future, too. But he has no idea why this guy is so interested in his family.
Meddling with Fate
Operation: Break-Up
Weilai is at the movie theater. He spots two classmates, Zhang Feng and Niu Xiaoxuan, together. He knows from his future that their marriage is a complete disaster. They fight constantly. He decides he has to stop this relationship before it even starts.
He pulls Zhang Feng aside. He lies and says Niu Xiaoxuan’s mom is on her way to bust her for dating. Zhang Feng gets scared and bolts. Then Weilai goes to Niu Xiaoxuan. He tells her that Zhang Feng just left to meet another girl. She's completely crushed.
With that fire put out, Weilai’s real plan begins. His friends start showing up. He had arranged for all of them to be there. He's trying to set up his younger self, Youzuo, with a different girl, Wang Yiman.
The Bathroom Lock-In
There's a big problem, though. Youzuo is supposed to be meeting Xu Tutu at a restaurant. He’s torn. He wants to hang out with his friends, but he doesn't want to stand Tutu up. Weilai tells him to just send a text and reschedule.
But the text Xu Tutu receives says something else. It says Youzuo is on his way. Someone is interfering.
After the movie, Weilai gets locked in the bathroom. Zhao Liao did it. The old man then lies to the group and says Weilai already went home.
The Big Reveal
The Phone and the Scar
Weilai has to climb out of the bathroom window. It's a huge pain. Once he's out, he finds Zhao Liao waiting. He yells at him for interfering. Zhao Liao just says he shouldn't be messing with Xu Tutu's feelings.
Weilai fires back. He says leaving Xu Tutu might actually make his future better. Zhao Liao gets angry. He tells Weilai that he will definitely regret this.
Then Weilai sees it. He glances at Zhao Liao’s phone. The wallpaper is a photo of himself and Xu Tutu, happy together. He also notices a scar on Zhao Liao’s forehead. A scar he recognizes.
The pieces click into place. Zhao Liao isn't just some random guy from the future. He is Xun Weilai. He is an even older version of our main character, sent back for his own reasons. There are three of them now.
