Episode Summary
Xun Weilai dreams of losing Shu Tu in the future, only to wake up and see a transformed Xu Tutu in the past. An election for class president pushes the younger Zhao Youzuo to change his ways. The timeline officially breaks when both Xun Weilai's and Zhao Liao's scars disappear, leading Zhao Liao to reveal a devastating truth: Shu Tu dies in the original timeline. They discover the time-travel system is glitching under a new company, creating a loophole they decide to exploit to save Shu Tu and rewrite their fates.

A Dream of a Different Life
The episode kicks off with a fake-out. Xun Weilai is dreaming. He thinks he's back in his adult life. He comes home after work with spicy hot pot for Xu Tutu. But she's all dressed up and ready to go out. This is strange for her. She never wears makeup. He waits outside, getting a bad feeling. He finally goes inside to rush her along, but the room is empty. She's gone.
Then he jolts awake. He's back in the high school timeline. Chen Ming is there. He tells Xun Weilai he was calling out "Shu Tu's" name in his sleep. It’s a rough start to the day.
Back to School Shenanigans
Back in the reality of high school, things are just as complicated. Xun Weilai and Zhao Youzuo head to school together. Wang Yiman gives Xun Weilai a friendly hello. He completely ignores her and looks away. It's awkward.
Then he sees Xu Tutu. She changed her hair. She also finally ditched those thick glasses. Xun Weilai just stops and stares. He's completely captivated. Xu Tutu doesn't seem to notice him, though. She walks right up to Wang Yiman. She gives her a gift to thank her for her vote of support.
The Class President Gamble
A new school term means a new class president election. The teacher lays down some serious rules. Only students in the top five of the class are allowed to run. If you run and don't get that rank, your punishment is cleaning duty for a whole month.
The classroom goes silent. Only two people raise their hands. Wang Yiman and Zhao Youzuo. Xun Weilai is stunned. He has no memory of his younger self being this brave. Later, he sees Zhao Youzuo studying with Chen Ming during lunch. The kid is actually trying. Xun Weilai starts to think he might have a real chance.
A Case of Mistaken Identity
This whole two-versions-of-one-person thing is getting messy. In class, the teacher calls on "Zhao Youzuo." Xun Weilai stands up out of pure habit. The teacher is baffled. She thinks she has two students with the exact same name. Xun Weilai quickly realizes his mistake. He sits back down, totally embarrassed.
At the same time, Chen Ming gets a sharp headache. He remembers Xun Weilai telling him to get more rest. He uses the bathroom as an excuse to take a break. And who does he find in the bathroom? Zhao Youzuo. He's there with a book, completely lost in his studies.
The Timelines Are Officially Broken
This is where the episode really cranks things up. The sci-fi plot just went off the rails.
The Scars Vanish
Zhao Liao, our older time traveler, is looking in the mirror. He notices something is wrong. The scar on his forehead is gone. He immediately runs to find Xun Weilai. He checks Xun Weilai's forehead. His scar is gone, too.
This is very bad news. Zhao Liao realizes the younger Zhao Youzuo has done something to change history. He's worried this change will have terrible consequences. He specifically fears for the day his younger self performed a heroic act. If that event is altered, something much worse could happen. Their memories of the old timeline could become useless.
The Truth About Shu Tu
Zhao Liao thinks Xu Tutu's arrival is what fractured the timeline. He tries to jump to the future to check what happened. The system won't let him. Customer service just says the system is down.
He's relieved that he and Xun Weilai are at least still alive. Then he accidentally says something huge. He mutters that maybe this new timeline will allow Shu Tu to live. Xun Weilai just freezes. This is the first he's hearing of this. Zhao Liao just dropped a bombshell. In the original timeline, Shu Tu is dead. She dies in a car accident.
A Glitch in the System
Zhao Liao lays it all out for a shocked Xun Weilai. He explains that he traveled back multiple times to try and prevent Shu Tu's car accident. He failed every single time. That's why he gave up and jumped back to their high school years instead. His goal was to change Xun Weilai's fate, hoping it would have a ripple effect.
But there's another major problem. The company that manages time travel, Life Inc., has been replaced. A new company called Life Unlimited Inc. took over. The transition was a disaster. The system is now full of glitches. To make matters worse, all of Xun Weilai's travel data from his 2009 jump has been erased.
There is one silver lining, though. The new, incompetent company has no record of Zhao Liao's previous illegal jumps. He sees a loophole. He and the younger Zhao Youzuo decide to team up. They are going to use this broken system to their advantage and completely change their destiny.
