Cathy Fights Back

Kelly Tang’s smear campaign is still going strong. But Cathy Cheung has had enough. She decides it's time to stop taking punches. She immediately sets up a broadcast on All News to fight back with the truth.

SNK News keeps trashing the organ-shattering tech story. All News runs its counter-narrative. Their ratings actually start to pull ahead of SNK's. So, Koo Shiu-wah has someone mess with their system. The All News servers get hacked. Cathy doesn't miss a beat. She tells her team to switch to a pre-recorded broadcast. Their flexible system gives them a huge advantage over the rigid structure at SNK.

The All News Coup

The public pressure is mounting. Pak Shu-wan finally goes to confront Man Wai-sam directly. Just then, Cathy shows up to discuss story ideas with Man. The timing is perfect. Yu Ying-fei then walks in with the entire All News staff behind him. They all stand together. Yu tells Pak Shu-wan they fully support Cathy for the Vice President job. He even promises a thirty percent increase in readership within three months.

Pak Shu-wan doesn't know much about the news business. But she can see the team's unity. She's impressed. She agrees to Cathy's promotion right there. She also agrees to donate the "anti-cancer miracle machine" for testing.

With that settled, Man Wai-sam officially resigns from All News. Her work there is done.

The Queen Returns to SNK

Over at SNK News, the chairman election is about to happen. Koo Shiu-wah suddenly announces he's dropping out of the race. He says he'll stay on as director. One of the board members, Szeto Lee-kan, figures Koo knew he couldn't win. He thinks Koo quit to avoid public humiliation. But Koo claims his focus should be on running the company. He says Mrs. Fong will be out of the hospital soon.

And he's right. Mrs. Fong finally wakes up. Her doctor confirms she is lucid. She immediately signs the inheritance agreement. She also records a video message. In it, she appoints Man Wai-sam to act on her behalf. Man will handle all company business. Man thinks they should immediately fire the board members who were hostile to them. Mrs. Fong tells her not to be hasty. She says it's more important to keep your enemies close than your friends.

Man takes her new position. Her first move is to propose replacing the TV department director. A few board members speak up for Koo Shiu-wah. They argue that SNK's stock price just started to recover. A big internal shake-up is a bad idea right now. Man has to back down for the moment. But she has another idea. She suggests SNK should start moving toward privatization.

Two Cases Start to Connect

Siu Tin and Lau Chun-pong officially join the team at All News. After some time, they get really good at using the AI systems. All the training SNK invested in them is now directly benefiting its biggest competitor. Yu Ying-fei seems pretty happy about that.

Koo Shiu-wah is suddenly working like crazy. He starts personally overseeing story meetings. His daily schedule is packed. He makes a point of sending it to Man for her approval. He's clearly trying to claw back everything he lost.

Meanwhile, Lau Yim is chasing a story about a university student union embezzling funds. Cathy is investigating a telecom fraud case targeting a widow. After work, Cathy is out furniture shopping with Siu Chun-lok. They run into Lau Yim. We learn that Cathy and Siu Chun-lok are back together. Lau Yim is happy for them. Cathy tells her they've both matured after everything that happened. Siu Chun-lok is finally starting to respect her choices.

Suddenly, Cathy finds a connection between her telecom fraud case and Lau Yim's student fund case. They both split up to investigate their new leads.

A Deeper Conspiracy

Back at SNK, there's a security breach. Surveillance footage shows Lee Hin-ting logging into the server room. Koo Shiu-wah suspects someone is trying to cause internal conflict. He wants to do a special report on it. But he says the final decision to air it is up to Man.

After some digging, SNK discovers its internal computers were hacked. The fraudsters used a fake base station to get in. Rumors start flying that SNK's TV department is about to be shut down. Man realizes a much bigger player is pulling the strings from behind the scenes. She orders her team to find the root of the problem.

At an All News story meeting, Cathy and Lau Yim share what they've found. The victims in both their cases are lonely women. They guess that insurance and education agencies are leaking client data. They send Ma Ka-ming to go undercover as a potential customer. He doesn't get much information.

Later, at an SNK shareholder meeting, Man announces her plan to gradually privatize the company.

The All News team keeps investigating. They find that several of the shady agencies are connected to a mysterious place called 3U Park. They start to suspect it's a front for human trafficking. It might even involve organ trading. The question is whether to pursue the story. Yu Ying-fei and Cathy agree that safety comes first. They can't risk their colleagues' lives.

Ivan Poon also wants to look into 3U Park. Man gives him the same answer. She forbids it. It's just too dangerous.
