Episode Summary
Shen Mingzhu decides to keep her baby after a reassuring doctor's visit. She is moved when her three mothers—adoptive, and both biological—all show up in the rain to bring her an umbrella. While the family rallies to support Mingzhu, a pregnant Xu Zhixia feels increasingly ignored by her own parents. Her resentment boils over when her mother asks her to buy supplements for Mingzhu, leading to a major confrontation.

A Doctor's Visit and a Big Decision
Shen Mingzhu goes to the hospital for a prenatal check-up. She sees Dr. Li Jingzhe. He was the doctor who helped her before. They've become something like friends.
He gives her some great news. The baby is doing much better. Her previous pregnancy issue has corrected itself. All the tests look normal. He tells her to relax. She's going to have a healthy baby.
Mingzhu notices he's wearing red socks. She correctly guesses it's his "unlucky year" according to the zodiac. It's a tradition to wear red for protection. Seeing him be a little superstitious about his own luck makes her feel less alone in her worries. Right then, she decides to keep the baby. She asks him for advice on how to have a healthy pregnancy.
Three Moms and a Rainy Day
Just then, a huge downpour starts outside. Mingzhu doesn't have an umbrella. She decides to wait for the rain to stop.
Back at home, Xu Zhixia is feeling jealous. Her mom, Yu Jingxiang, is completely obsessed with Mingzhu. Zhixia feels like an afterthought. Jingxiang is even stalling on her son's wedding plans. She's afraid to meet the bride's parents. She worries they'll expect her to buy a house for the new couple.
Jingxiang doesn't have Mingzhu's number. So she stalks Mingzhu's social media through Zhixia's phone. She sees that Mingzhu is at the hospital for her check-up. When she notices the rain, she grabs an umbrella from Zhixia's house and heads out.
Jingxiang gets to the maternity ward. She spots Mingzhu. But before she can go over, she sees Yue Xiue, Mingzhu's adoptive mom, rushing in. Jingxiang panics and hides. She asks a little girl to give the umbrella to Mingzhu instead. Mingzhu figures out it must be from her.
But that's not all. He Lihua, Mingzhu's other biological mom, also shows up with an umbrella. Mingzhu is completely overwhelmed. It's pouring rain, and three different mothers came to help her. She feels surrounded by love. It gives her the strength she needs. She decides she's going to be a strong mom, too.
In that moment, she looks at He Lihua and calls her "Mom" for the first time. He Lihua is so happy she starts crying. Mingzhu tells her she's keeping the baby. He Lihua will be the baby's grandmother. They're a family now. Hiding nearby, Yu Jingxiang sees the whole thing and feels a sense of relief.
The Family Rallies Around Mingzhu
Everyone is thrilled with Mingzhu's decision. Her friend Ni Dani is ecstatic and declares she'll be the baby's godmother.
From that day on, Mingzhu focuses on her pregnancy. He Lihua is in a great mood. She drags her other daughter, Feng Meiqi, out to shop for baby supplies. Mingzhu's adoptive parents, Shen Shengli and Yue Xiue, cook all sorts of special meals for her.
Even Yu Jingxiang and Xu Dacheng get in on it. They wake up early to buy the freshest vegetables and meat. They give the food to Shen Shengli to cook. They can't bring it to the house themselves. Yue Xiue still hasn't forgiven them.
Zhixia Reaches Her Breaking Point
Not everyone is happy, though. Xu Zhixia is pregnant, too. But she feels totally ignored. Her parents' world revolves around Mingzhu. Her brother, Xu Zhidong, also feels left out. Zhixia tells him he needs to figure out a way to win back their parents' affection.
A Backfired Plan
Zhidong takes her advice. He orders a huge, fancy meal. He lies and tells his parents his girlfriend, Cui Bichen, cooked it all. They are seriously impressed. They praise Bichen's cooking skills. Then they tell Zhidong that he and Bichen should be in charge of all the cooking from now on. The plan completely backfires. He texts Zhixia to complain about her terrible idea.
The Final Straw
Zhixia is still stewing over her parents' favoritism. Her husband, Zhang Hao, tries to cheer her up.
Later, Yu Jingxiang comes to visit. She notices Zhixia's feet are swollen and seems concerned for a second. But then she immediately starts talking about Mingzhu again. She asks Zhixia what prenatal supplements she's taking. She wants to buy the same ones for Mingzhu.
This is the last straw for Zhixia. She explodes.
She tells her mom she isn't taking any supplements. She's working like crazy while pregnant just to land clients. She points out that her mom only cares about Mingzhu. Zhixia is furious and refuses to buy anything for her. Zhang Hao hears the shouting and comes out to break it up. Zhixia storms off into her room, leaving her mother standing there.
Yu Jingxiang goes home feeling hurt. She complains to Xu Dacheng that Zhixia is ungrateful. She starts complaining about Zhidong, too. Zhidong is there and argues back. He challenges his mom to finally meet his girlfriend's parents. Jingxiang has no answer for that. She's been caught.
