Episode Summary
This episode sees Shen Mingzhu pay off old debts and start a new business, leasing a hotel restaurant and hiring a chef. Feng Meiqi discovers she is pregnant and has a medical condition that complicates her decision, but she ultimately chooses to keep the baby with Mingzhu's support. Meanwhile, He Lihua discovers Feng Meiqi's pregnancy and then finds a stockpile of raw materials left by her late husband, inspiring her to restart their business.

Mingzhu's Next Chapter
From Debt to a New Business
So, Shen Mingzhu is cleaning up the mess Feng Zhi left behind. She sells the house they were supposed to live in. It’s a bold move. She uses the money to pay off all his debts. But she doesn't stop there. With the cash she has left, she goes and leases the entire catering department of the Nanxi Hotel. She signs the contract with a Mr. Zhao. Mingzhu is officially a business owner now.
She puts Feng Meiqi in charge of managing the place. They need to get it ready for business.
A New Chef in Town
The restaurant renovations are finally done. Now they just need a cook. Mingzhu and Meiqi start holding interviews. They try food from several chefs. None of them are good enough.
Then, Xu Dacheng steps in. He brings his old friend, Lao Zhu. This guy used to be the second-in-command chef at the big Jinling Hotel. He whips up a few dishes on the spot. Mingzhu and Meiqi are blown away. His cooking is exactly what they need. They hire him as the head chef right away. Lao Zhu only asks for 8,000 a month. Turns out, Xu Dacheng once saved his life. This is his way of repaying the favor. Meiqi gets the contract signed immediately.
Meiqi's Crisis
An Unexpected Pregnancy
While overseeing the restaurant renovations, Feng Meiqi suddenly feels sick. She gets nauseous and has to run to the bathroom. Mingzhu notices something is off. Meiqi thinks she might be pregnant.
She goes to the hospital to get checked out. The test comes back positive. She is definitely pregnant. Without skipping a beat, Meiqi schedules an abortion. The appointment isn't for another two hours, though. She can't just sit around, so she heads back to the hotel to keep an eye on the construction.
A Difficult Choice
At the hospital, the doctor gives her some serious news. Meiqi has something called a chocolate cyst. The doctor explains that if she has an abortion now, she might not be able to get pregnant ever again. This stops Meiqi in her tracks. She doesn't know what to do.
She tells Mingzhu everything. We learn the father is a lawyer she met in Shanghai. Mingzhu thinks she should tell him. Meiqi refuses. She doesn't want him to know. She decides she wants to keep the baby and raise it by herself. Mingzhu tells her to think it through carefully.
Later, Mingzhu gets more information from Li Jingzhe about the cyst. The risk of future infertility is real. She tries again to convince Meiqi to have the abortion. Meiqi completely refuses. They get into a huge argument and stop talking.
That night, Mingzhu finds Meiqi in the kitchen drinking soup. She tells her she needs to eat more meat for the baby. Meiqi finally breaks down. She's been through so much already. She isn't ready to be a mother, but she feels like she can't get rid of the baby either. Mingzhu feels for her. She promises to help. They'll raise the child together.
Family Drama Everywhere
Zhixia's Daughter Makes a Stand
While all this is happening, Xu Zhixia and Mingzhu are at the hospital for their own prenatal check-ups. Zhixia gets a frantic call from Zhang Hao. Their daughter, Jiaojiao, drew all over the new Director Wu's car.
Zhixia rushes over to apologize. Director Wu is surprisingly cool about it and decides to let it go. Back home, Zhixia starts scolding Jiaojiao. But Zhang Hao steps in. He explains that Jiaojiao saw Director Wu arguing with him. She scribbled on the car to defend her dad. When Zhixia hears the real story, she's actually proud of her.
Later, Zhixia and Zhang Hao get some startling news at their own appointment. The doctor tells them their baby has an extra finger. They are obviously scared. The doctor reassures them it's not a big deal. It can be removed with a simple surgery after the baby is older.
A Fake Trip to Shanghai
He Lihua and her family have nowhere to go. Shen Shengli and Yue Xiue take them in. Shen Minghui even gives up his own room for them. He Lihua is moved to tears by their kindness.
While unpacking, He Lihua finds Meiqi's pregnancy report. She immediately confronts Meiqi, telling her she has to marry the father. Meiqi insists she will raise the child alone. So, He Lihua turns to Mingzhu. She demands that someone go to Shanghai and find that lawyer.
Mingzhu is too busy with the restaurant. She sends Shen Minghui instead. But Minghui knows that both Mingzhu and Meiqi don't actually want him to go. This is just to get He Lihua off their backs. He goes to the train station, takes a picture as "proof," and sends it to Mingzhu.
Of course, he gets caught. He Lihua sees him when he sneaks back home to grab some things. She realizes he never went to Shanghai. She gets angry and says she'll go herself. Minghui has to talk her down.
Lihua's Discovery
While looking through her things, He Lihua finds a key inside a red high-heeled shoe. It’s the key to the factory where she and Feng Zhi started their first business. She gets Minghui to take her there.
Inside the old, abandoned factory, she makes a huge discovery. Feng Zhi left behind a massive stockpile of raw materials. Seeing it all there sparks an idea. She wants to rebuild the business. She decides then and there that she is going to Shanghai to find that lawyer herself.
