Episode Summary
Li Heng secures the arms shipment, but Wu Shiren sacrifices himself to protect Li Heng's cover, leaving Jia Yunying devastated and blaming Li Heng. Jia Yunwu takes brutal revenge by burning Tang Meng alive after learning Lu Wenlu ordered his father's death. The episode ends with Li Heng agreeing to protect Yunying while political tensions between the factions boil over.

We are deep in the muck now. This episode doesn't pull any punches. It strips away the pleasantries and leaves our characters dealing with blood, betrayal, and some serious burns.
The Hard Goodbye
Lu Shufen tries to step up. She hugs Li Heng tight. She wants to share the burden. It makes sense. She is his wife. But Li Heng shuts that down fast. He tells her the Deqing Society is her priority. She is the only one who can run it. Lu Shufen sees the logic. She stops fighting him on it. She agrees to wait for him to come back.
The Ambush Goes Wrong
The Juntong are circling like vultures. They want to use the Special Committee to nail Shen Yihe for smuggling. Lu Wenlu puts Tang Meng on the job. He orders him to watch Li Heng. If Li Heng looks like a communist, they take him down.
Li Heng moves the weapons out of the city with Qingtian. Trouble hits immediately. Wu Shiren shows up disguised as a bandit. He blocks the path. Li Heng almost blows his cover to identify himself. Then Da Kui charges in with his crew. It turns into a mess. Li Heng orders Wu Shiren to retreat. Qingtian manages to slip a driver away with the weapons truck.
A Hero’s End
The firefight gets ugly. The numbers are bad. Everyone on the team dies except Wu Shiren. In that chaos, Wu Shiren realizes the truth. Li Heng is "Wildfire." Wu makes the ultimate call. He decides to die to protect Li Heng's identity. He gives his life for the mission. His last words are for Jia Yunying. He wants her to live well.
Li Heng survives. He goes home to Lu Shufen. She sees he is safe. She is relieved. But she knows the cost. They owe Jia Yunying a debt they can never repay.
Shattered Families
Jia Yunwu goes home. He drops a bomb on his sister. He tells Jia Yunying he is transferring to Chongqing. Then he delivers the crushing blow. Wu Shiren is dead. He points the finger straight at Li Heng. Yunying falls apart. She can't process it. Yunwu tries to get her to leave with him. She refuses. Yunwu looks at his son asking for grandpa. It hurts. He decides to go to Chongqing alone to get settled.
Tang Meng reports back to Lu Wenlu. He confirms Li Heng killed Wu Shiren. He thinks Yunying is a communist too. He wants to arrest her. Lu Wenlu isn't stupid. He stops him. Yunwu is still powerful. He is investigating his father's death. Touching his sister now is a death wish.
Point of No Return
Li Heng walks home. Yunying steps out of the shadows. She has a gun. She aims it right at his chest. She demands to know why he killed Wu Shiren. Li Heng stands there. He doesn't flinch. He can't explain. The truth would destroy everything. Yunying stares him down. She can't pull the trigger. She lowers the gun. She tells him the man she knew is dead.
Li Heng goes to the outskirts the next morning. He plants a pine tree for Wu Shiren. He thinks about Yu Tong. The mission is done. The cost was too high.
Fire with Fire
Tang Meng makes a fatal mistake. He gets drunk. He stumbles out of a bar. Jia Yunwu is waiting. He is dressed as a rickshaw puller. He drags Tang out to the middle of nowhere. He dumps gasoline on him. Tang sobers up fast. He begs. He spills the beans. He admits Lu Wenlu ordered Wang Xiaofei to kill Jia Zhong.
It doesn't save him. Yunwu lights the fire. Tang Meng burns.
Yunwu finds Li Heng later. He asks for a favor. He wants the Deqing Society to find Wang Xiaofei. He also asks Li Heng to protect Yunying. Li Heng agrees to all of it.
The next meeting is tense. Lu Wenlu brings up Tang Meng's death. He blames Jia Yunwu and the Sichuan Investigation Office. Shen Yihe steps in. He demands evidence. Lu Wenlu has nothing. He storms out.
