Spoiler Alert

The Cow Situation Gets Worse

Wu Aicao's Masterclass in Failure

I knew Wu Aicao wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed. I just didn't realize how dull he was. Ma Qinghao is completely baffled by him. The guy couldn't even replace the dead cow correctly. He was supposed to find another Simmental cow of the same size. He failed. Ma Qinghao points out he could have at least used paint to make a different cow look right. But Wu Aicao says he was worried the paint would hurt the cow. You can't make this stuff up.

His wife, Long Fengbi, is surprisingly quiet about it. She just goes back inside without a word. That silent treatment is way scarier than yelling. Ma Qinghao tries to encourage Wu Aicao to just talk to her. But Wu Aicao is so jumpy that a rooster crowing makes him flinch. The man is a lost cause.

A Family Intervention Backfires

Ma Qinghao's dad, Ma Yongbing, calls him. He wants him to come over to his uncle's house. The uncle's name is He Shang'an. This isn't just a friendly family visit. It's a setup. The plan is for the uncle to talk some sense into Ma Qinghao and convince him to move back to the city.

He Shang'an used to be the village chief, so he knows how to give a speech. The problem is, he gets a little too good at it. He and Ma Qinghao start talking. The conversation completely derails from the original plan. They end up talking about rural revitalization and all the opportunities in the countryside. Now Ma Qinghao is inspired. He wants to renovate his old family house.

His dad, Ma Yongbing, has been sitting there pretending to drink tea. He finally loses it. He flips the chessboard over, yells, and storms out. His wife, Ma Xiumei, tries to remind her husband about his promise to his brother. But He Shang'an has switched sides. He's fully supporting Ma Qinghao now. He says he'll just apologize to his brother-in-law later. He admits he's had to apologize to him plenty of times before.

Gun Yueliang Fights Back

A lawyer named Li suddenly shows up in Cliff Village. He's looking for Gun Yueliang. He aggressively tells her she needs to sign a compensation agreement with some company. He threatens her with bad consequences if she doesn't.

Xiao Baihe finds out and tells Gun Yueliang not to panic. She explains what's happening. These companies often bully cultural inheritors who don't know the law. They use threats to force them into bad deals. A lot of people just pay to make the problem go away. But Xiao Baihe is not letting that happen. She has already hired her own lawyer and is getting the paperwork ready. Once everything is prepared, she's going straight to the company's boss, a man named Jia, to expose the whole scam. Gun Yueliang feels a lot better with this support. She promises she won't back down.

The Legal Showdown

A few days later, her sister, Gun Changpu, tells her some good news. She convinced their parents to stop trying to make her move to the city.

Then, Xiao Baihe and Gun Yueliang go to Boss Jia's company. They lay it all out for him. They state that the embroidery design is part of the Miao people's collective tradition. It's public cultural property. Boss Jia's attempt to claim it for himself has no legal basis. He sees they are prepared and determined. He knows he can't win this fight. He gives up and signs a settlement agreement just to end the matter.

Meddling Parents and Second Thoughts

Ma Qinghao is doing a livestream from his old family house. Being there makes him think about all his past moments with Gun Yueliang.

Ma Qinghao's Dad Calms Down

His aunt, Ma Xiumei, goes to visit her brother, Ma Yongbing. She brings some of her husband's homemade wine. She calmly tells him to stop interfering in his son's life. She also points out a big reason Ma Qinghao is staying in the village. It's for Gun Yueliang. Ma Xiumei puts it perfectly. She says Gun Yueliang is a once-in-a-lifetime kind of girl. Even with all the stars in the sky, Ma Qinghao only has eyes for this one moon. Her words get through to Ma Yongbing. He finally starts to calm down.

Gun Yueliang's Parents Scheme

Gun Yueliang's parents, Gun Dayue and Ye Mei, have other plans. They call their daughter home. They want to set her up on a blind date. They think this is the only way to get her away from Ma Qinghao for good. Gun Yueliang has no interest in this. But she agrees to go just to make her parents happy. Her mom is thrilled.

An Old Friend and Some Bad Advice

While walking through the village, Ma Qinghao runs into an old friend, Yang Xianglian. He calls him "Pang Ge," or Fat Bro. This is the guy who gave Ma Qinghao his first business deal when he was just starting out.

Pang Ge has moved back from the big city. He opened his own restaurant in the village called the "Old Apricot Tree House." Ma Qinghao calls Wu Aicao to come eat with them. But Wu Aicao is miserable. Long Fengbi is still giving him the silent treatment. He begs Ma Qinghao for advice.

Ma Qinghao suggests he should just sell the remaining cow. His wife never wanted the cows in the first place. Now that one is dead, selling the other one could be a good way to smooth things over with her.
