She stands on the street she used to know. The memories hit her hard. She sees the image of her mother jumping from a building. It is a brutal welcome home.
Yan Tuo panics when he finds her missing. He rushes to find her. He catches up, and she opens up a little. She shows him where she grew up. She talks about her uncle taking her in after her parents died. He used to sneak her ice cream. Later, Jiang Baichuan took care of her. They visit the uncle's old house. It is empty. The family moved away a long time ago.
Dinner and a Meltdown
Lu Jie decides to intervene with food. She cooks a massive feast of Jiuluo's favorite dishes. The smell fills the room. It works. Jiuluo drops her guard. She sits down to eat with Yan Tuo.
Things go south after dinner. Jiuluo opens a jar of lucky stars. They are full of notes about her history with Yan Tuo. She reads them. The flood of information is too much. She gets overwhelmed and dumps the whole jar in the trash.
The Storm Brings Clarity
Boss Lu shows up the next day. He needs new art. Jiuluo hands him a bizarre sculpture she made overnight. It looks like a "four-unlike" creature. A monster. Boss Lu is confused. She admits she doesn't know where it came from. She just had a feeling during a sleepless night.
A massive storm hits that night. The wind howls. Yan Tuo worries about Jiuluo. He sneaks into her room to close the window. He sees her sleeping and tucks her in.
She wakes up instantly. Her reflexes kick in. She attacks him and shouts "A-Luo." They break a sculpture in the scuffle. It is a perfect reenactment of their very first fight. The physical action unlocks her brain. The fog lifts. She looks at Yan Tuo and cries. She finally knows who he is.
A Final Goodbye
Jiuluo wants closure now that her memory is back. She takes Yan Tuo to the Black and White Stream. She needs to see her mother. Yan Tuo uses the power of the "Hu" to summon the Earth Demon Pei Ke.
Pei Ke appears. She is white-haired and aged. But Jiuluo recognizes her mom immediately. Pei Ke stands on the cliff opposite them. She is a monster now, but she looks at her daughter with love. Jiuluo screams for her mother. It is a heartbreaking goodbye. Pei Ke turns around and walks back into the darkness.
Jiuluo carves a spirit tablet for her mom. She places it with the other hunter tablets. She goes back to her weird sculpture. She names it "Peel." It stands for rebirth. She has shed her confusion and found herself again.
The Art Show Mystery
Uncle Changxi wanders back to the restaurant. It is a mess. The gang arrives and decides to renovate. They are going to reopen the place.
The art exhibition opens. The Nanshan hunters show up to support Jiuluo. The "Peel" sculpture is the centerpiece. It shocks the crowd. It looks alive.
A mysterious man walks in. He goes straight to Boss Lu. He wants to buy everything. He tells Boss Lu to name his price. He doesn't care about the cost.
Later, this mystery buyer reports to his "God-Grandpa." The old man doesn't care about the other art. He only wants "Peel." He stares at a picture of it. He remembers seeing that image in an old room years ago. It holds a secret he has been waiting for.
