Episode Summary
Yan Tuo discovers the Dixiao base, but it's a test orchestrated by Lin Xirou. He then meets with Nie Jiuluo, giving her a clue about a captured Nanshan hunter. The hunters decide to proceed with their rescue mission, and Nie Jiuluo agrees to help on the condition she can leave the group afterward. The mission starts with a trap, where the hunters are ambushed while trying to save their comrade. The fight leads to the dramatic reveal of "Dog Tooth's" true, monstrous form.

Yan Tuo Finds the Lair
Yan Tuo finally finds the entrance to the Dixiao base. It's hidden right there on the farm. He cautiously makes his way down the passage. The place is a mess. There are bloodstains dragged all over the floor. It looks bad.
He hears someone inside. They ask if he's a Nanshan hunter. The person doesn't trust him at first. But then they see the needle mark on his neck. They offer him some water. Suddenly, the farm's alarm blares. Yan Tuo scrambles out of the hole. He runs right into Xiong Hei. Yan Tuo is furious. He demands to know why they've been hiding the truth from him. He's family, after all.
A Secret Meeting and a New Clue
Later, Xiong Hei rushes to tell Lin Yi what happened. He thinks Yan Tuo is ready to join their side. But this was all a setup. Lin Xirou planned the whole thing. She wanted to test Yan Tuo and see where his loyalties really are.
On the other side of things, Nie Jiuluo gets a message from Yan Tu. They agree to meet at their usual spot. She shows up at the restaurant. He's already there. He even ordered her favorite chicken feet for her. Yan Tuo looks serious. He tells her he saw a Nanshan hunter inside the Dixiao base. The man has a disabled left leg. The problem is, Lin Xirou is guarding him closely. Getting to him will be tough.
The Nanshan Hunters Make a Plan
The Nanshan hunters gather to figure out their next move. The situation is not great. Hua Zi is still in a coma. Now, the hunter they call "Cripple" has been captured. After some discussion, they decide to stick with their original plan.
Xing Shen pulls Nie Jiuluo aside. He asks her to officially join the mission. She thinks about it and agrees. But she has one condition. When this is all over, she's leaving the group for good.
We also get some backstory on Xing Shen. He took something called a "Huoquan Pill" to become a "Mad Dog." It gave him some strange abilities. During the day, he has to wear sunglasses to protect his eyes from the light. But at night, his vision is razor-sharp. He can also smell water in enclosed spaces. Nie Jiuluo started to pull away from him after he took the pill. We also learn he has a habit of visiting a "monster man" in a dungeon. He brings it toys and talks to it. Before he leaves for the mission, he tells the creature to stay put.
A Matchmaking Attempt
Lin Xirou is trying to play matchmaker. She wants to set up Lin Ling with Lü Xian. Lin Ling is clearly not interested. She's completely against the idea. But she's too scared to go against Lin Xirou's wishes. Yan Tuo notices how unhappy she is. He quietly tells her not to worry about it. He advises her to just let things happen naturally.
The Mission Begins
It's time. The mission is on. Jiang Baichuan holds an incense burner. He leads the group into a dark room for an ancestor worship ritual. A new member, Que Cha, stays behind at the base. We learn she's been secretly following Jiang Baichuan for decades. Her job is to look after Hua Sao.
Nie Jiuluo looks determined. She solemnly takes out her mother's sword. She's ready to go.
The Trap and a Big Reveal
The captured Nanshan hunter, Cripple, is hanging from a tree. This is obviously a trap. Someone set this up to lure the other hunters into a rescue attempt. Nie Jiuluo moves quickly and quietly through the woods. She's sharp and spots the trap set by the Dixiao.
Without a second to waste, she throws a knife. It slices cleanly through the rope above Cripple's head. The other Nanshan hunters see their chance. They launch their attack. A huge fight breaks out. Right in the middle of the chaos, a strange monster appears. Everyone gets a good look at it. They finally see the true face of "Dog Tooth."
