Episode Summary
Gao Hui tricks Tan Siting into a meeting to warn her away from Lele. Feng Rui intervenes and defends his girlfriend. Gao Hui retaliates by taking Lele from school without permission to stop them from moving to France. During a family argument, Feng Rui's father admits he pressured Tan Siting to leave thirteen years ago but finally gives the couple his blessing.

Grandma Goes Rogue
Things are getting messy in Episode 20. Tan Siting sends a figurine to Lele. The kid absolutely loves it. He can’t put it down. naturally, Gao Hui hates this. She sees her grandson getting attached to his biological mother. It drives her crazy. She tries to block them from seeing each other. She even tries to guilt-trip Lele. She asks if he misses Auntie Wen Peiyan. She brings up Wen Peiyan's cooking to sway him.
Lele is surprisingly mature about the whole thing. He doesn't buy into the guilt. He knows his dad and Wen Peiyan broke up. He sees that as adult business. He feels a little bad, sure. But he supports his father’s choice.
The Fake Date Setup
Gao Hui decides to play dirty. She contacts Tan Siting pretending to be Lele. She asks her to meet up. Tan Siting falls for it. She is on a call with Feng Rui at the time. She rushes off the phone. She tells him she has a dinner date with Lele.
Feng Rui gets a little jealous. He jokes that Lele ranks higher than him now. He hangs up and heads home. He expects an empty house. Instead, he finds Lele on the sofa playing video games. Feng Rui is confused. He asks about the pizza date. Lele has no idea what he is talking about. Feng Rui realizes something is wrong immediately. He rushes to the meeting spot. He finds his mother and Tan Siting together. The mood is tense.
Past Secrets and Present Fights
Gao Hui didn't come to chat. She warns Tan Siting to back off. She forbids her from dating Feng Rui. She tells her to stay away from Lele. Tan Siting isn't scared anymore. She laughs it off. She reminds Gao Hui that Lele is her biological son. No one can keep them apart. She also points out Gao Hui’s hypocrisy. Gao Hui is the one who caused their separation years ago.
Feng Rui steps in right then. He sees the high emotions. He stands by Tan Siting. He tells his mother to stop. They aren't children anymore. Too much time has passed. She cannot control their love life now.
The School Pickup Stunt
Gao Hui knows about the plan to move to France. She knows Feng Rui wants to take Lele and live with Tan Siting. She refuses to let her grandson go. She takes drastic action. She picks Lele up early from school. She takes him to his grandfather's house.

The Grandfather Speaks Up
Feng Rui goes to his parents' house. He gets into a screaming match with Gao Hui. She calls him ungrateful. She refuses to be separated from Lele. Feng Rui fights back hard. He blames her for everything. He says Lele grew up without a mom because of her interference.
Then the grandfather steps in. He sees the chaos. He finally admits the truth about thirteen years ago. He played a part in the breakup too. He visited Tan Siting in the hospital back then. He told her their relationship was doomed without family blessings. He guilted her. He said she should leave for Feng Rui’s own good.
That conversation is why Tan Siting wrote the breakup letter. She left for France to protect Feng Rui. The grandfather has watched his son stay single for over a decade. He feels terrible guilt. He sees that Feng Rui and Tan Siting are back together. He decides to stop fighting it. He supports his son now. He just wants Feng Rui to be happy.
