Episode Summary

Ailing suffers a breakdown at an agency event and gets arrested, leading Lu Ming to buy an RV so they can reconnect on a road trip. Ge Kaiyang finalizes his grandmother's affairs and breaks the news of her death to his imprisoned father. Xinying deals with a rude professor at work and gets emotional when her parents leave for their trip.

Ailing Hits Her Limit

Zhou Aiying is at home doing laundry. She realizes her sister left early in the morning. She starts to worry about where she went. Zhou Ailing is actually at a study abroad agency. The agency is hosting a promotional event. They want parents to share their success stories. Ailing sent her daughter to Canada. The agency considers this a win. They invite her on stage to speak.

The pressure gets to her. Ailing realizes she ignored her daughter's feelings for too long. The guilt is overwhelming. She has a mental breakdown right there. She leaves the event and wanders the streets. She ends up in a bar. She needs to vent. She causes a scene and forgets about everyone else around her. The police pick her up. Lu Ming has to go to the station to bail her out.

Kaiyang Says Goodbye

Ge Kaiyang handles the paperwork to cancel his grandmother's household registration. He stares at her ID card. It brings back memories of their chats on the rooftop. He goes home and cleans the pigeon cage. He talks to his grandmother's photo like she is still there. He tells her he handled everything.

He has one last stop. Kaiyang goes to the prison to see his father. His father acts arrogant. He puts on a show so his son won't worry. Kaiyang feels guilty. He tells his father the bad news. Grandma has passed away.

Xinying's Rough Day at the Office

Lu Xinying is busy at work. A Professor Lin sends over a recommendation letter for a student. The English grammar in the letter is bad. Xinying tries to be helpful. She contacts the professor to fix the errors. Professor Lin has a huge ego. He gets angry that an agency is correcting him. He berates Xinying.

Xinying feels wronged. She only wanted to help. She starts crying in the office. A colleague sees her upset and tries to comfort her. Xinying goes to the restroom to wash her face. She pulls herself together. She goes back to her desk and keeps working.

The RV Plan

Lu Ming is at the repair shop. A young couple inspires him. He makes a big decision. He sells his car and buys an RV. He wants to take Ailing on a trip. He brings Ailing to the shop. She finds out he sold the car without asking. She gets angry.

Lu Ming explains himself. He says life has been too busy. They haven't had a real heart-to-heart in years. He feels bad about that. He wants to travel with her. He wants them to live for themselves instead of just for the kids. Ailing is touched. She starts crying happy tears.

Hitting the Road

Xinying explains study abroad fees to a client. The cost is high. The mother says it is worth it if the child studies hard. This reminds Xinying of when she went abroad with her own mother.

Lu Ming and Ailing start their RV trip. They send a voice recording to Xinying. It contains advice and loving words for their daughter. Xinying listens to the message. She cries as she hears their voices.
