Zhang Ran Takes the Lead
Things are finally looking up for Zhang Ran. Her latest video went viral. The traffic numbers are huge. The company is ecstatic about this win. They even tripled the bonus for her entire team. It is a massive victory.
But not everyone is celebrating. Lin Anran is watching from the sidelines. She looks absolutely miserable. She feels completely left out in the cold. All the company resources are shifting toward Zhang Ran now. The influential people in the office are sucking up to Zhang Ran too. Lin Anran feels like nobody cares about her anymore.
The Big Banquet
Fu Yudong is having a great week too. His livestream was a smash hit. The products sold out completely. This makes Xing Kai very happy. Fu Yudong stays humble about the whole thing. He didn't expect it to go that well. Xing Kai appreciates the attitude.
Xing Kai invites Fu Yudong to a fancy investor banquet that night. Li Daoqi gets an invite too. He brings Cheng Man along as his plus one. This goes sideways quickly. Cheng Man tries to hang out with the wealthy wives. It is awkward. She has nothing in common with them. She watches Li Daoqi working the room. He fits in perfectly. She feels out of place and inferior. She just wants to go home.
A Guy and His Horse
The weather turns nasty that night. It starts pouring rain. We see a softer side of Ge Kaiyang. He spots some amusement park horses tied up outside. They have no shelter. He grabs an umbrella. He squats down next to a horse to keep it dry. It is a sweet gesture.
Frank is back from Canada. He tracks down Lu Xinying. They go out for dinner. Frank talks a lot. He is super chatty. This is exactly what Lu Xinying needed. Her mood lifts immediately. Frank casually brings up Ge Kaiyang. He explains the messy situation with Ge Kaiyang's family. Lu Xinying listens. She doesn't mention their fight. But inside, she forgives Ge Kaiyang.
Mixed Signals at the Zoo
Frank plays matchmaker. He pushes Ge Kaiyang to go see Lu Xinying. He says they need to clear the air. Ge Kaiyang is hesitant. Frank hypes him up. Ge Kaiyang finally goes to her workplace. It is a disaster. Lu Xinying sees him and walks away. She gives him the cold shoulder.
Ge Kaiyang goes back to his night shift. He is confused. He cleans up and talks to the animals about his problems. But then Lu Xinying surprises him. She shows up at the zoo that night. She brings food. She chats with his security guard buddy. She even gets a job at the zoo to work alongside him. Frank is there too. He is already best friends with the foreman.
The Setup
Frank thinks they are moving too slow. He decides to force the issue. He lies to Lu Xinying. He tells her they are going to an art exhibition. She believes him. They drive off. But they end up at the zoo entrance.
Frank tells her to wait by the gate. He runs off and grabs Ge Kaiyang. He drags him to the entrance. The two ex-lovers face each other again. They are both surprised. But this time is different. Lu Xinying doesn't run away. She stands her ground.
