Episode Summary

Zhang Ran tries to reconcile her parents, but her father hides out in a bathhouse while her mother becomes obsessed with livestreaming and dance classes. Suspecting an affair, the father attacks a streamer he believes is scamming his wife, leading to a police incident. Eventually, the father wins his wife back by arranging a musical performance that reminds her of their happier past.

Daddy Issues and Bathhouse Hustles

Zhang Ran sits down for a meal with her father. He is in full lecture mode. He wants her to cut Fu Yudong some slack. Yudong’s career is taking off right now. Dad thinks she needs to support him. He hates the idea of them breaking up. Zhang Ran holds her tongue. She doesn't want to stress him out. Instead, she flips the script. She tells him to go home and apologize to her mother.

He agrees to her face. But he doesn't actually go home. He heads straight for the bathhouse. He apparently loves it there. He even sets up a small stall inside to make some extra cash. Zhang Ran tries to play peacemaker again. She calls her mom, Zhou Aiying. She wants to fix the rift between her parents. It’s a waste of time. Mom is still furious. She hangs up almost immediately.

Mom's New Obsession

The house feels empty. Zhou Aiying is lonely. She tries calling her sister, Zhou Ailing. The signal is terrible. She gives up and heads to the market. She notices something weird. People are livestreaming everywhere. Even the tofu seller is doing it. She gets curious. She starts watching streams herself. She gets hooked on relationship advice channels. The hosts tell her to get out there. She listens. She signs up for dance lessons to find herself.

Dad is still lounging at the bathhouse. He watches Zhang Ran’s livestream. Something worries him. He panics and runs home. He can't find his wife. He eventually tracks her down in the bathroom. He tries to show her Zhang Ran’s content. Zhou Aiying doesn't buy it. She thinks it’s all staged. She ignores him completely.

The Brawl and the Bailout

Morning comes. Dad makes breakfast to smooth things over. Zhou Aiying ignores him and orders takeout. That hurts. Dad goes for a walk to clear his head. His friend makes things worse. The friend suggests Zhou Aiying is having an online affair. They decide to stalk her. They track her to the dance class. She is dancing with another man.

Dad spots the streamer his wife follows. His friend claims this guy scams older women. Dad sees red. He attacks the streamer. It’s a mess. They all end up at the police station. The streamer actually wants to let it go. But Zhou Aiying is savage. She insists the police detain her husband. Zhang Ran has to show up. She settles the financial damages for the disrupted broadcast.

The Fake Heart Attack

Back home, Zhou Aiying is on a warpath. She tells Dad to back off. She wants to live for herself. Dad’s friend tries a risky move. He interrupts Zhou Aiying’s dance practice. He lies and says Dad is having a medical emergency. She panics. She rushes out to find him.

She sees he is perfectly fine. She realizes it was a trick. She gets angry again. But Dad actually has a surprise ready. He gathered some artistic friends. They invite Zhou Aiying to perform with them. The music hits the right note. It brings back good memories for her.
