Episode Summary

This episode completely shifts the power dynamic. Sun Siming kills his boss, Li Zhizhuo, and convinces Yunting to make him the new President of the Chamber of Commerce. Fu Sheng struggles to perform surgery to save Mr. Luo, leading him to seek a better blade from Wen Yu's father. The villainous hierarchy crumbles when the Lord orders Yunting's execution for her reckless decisions, replacing her with Guo Sishui.

The Stable Boy Strikes Back

We start in the stables. Sun Siming is doing his usual routine feeding the horses. Li Zhizhuo storms in and he is furious. He screams at Sun for killing a suspect and asks if he plans to kill him next. Sun Siming drops to his knees immediately. He begs. He grovels. He looks pathetic.

It is all an act.

Li Zhizhuo relaxes for one second. Sun grabs a water bucket and smashes it over Li’s head. The boss goes down. When Li wakes up, he is in a hole. Sun is burying him alive. Li panics and threatens Sun with the powerful people backing him.

Yunting walks up right then. Li thinks he is saved. He begs the envoy for help. Sun Siming stays calm. He spins a story about the night Mr. Lin died. He claims Mr. Lin gave him a token before taking his last breath. The implication is clear. Li Zhizhuo killed Mr. Lin.

Li tries to deny it. His story falls apart. Yunting makes a choice. She kills Li Zhizhuo right there. She hands the Chamber of Commerce over to Sun Siming. The horse slave is now the master.

New Management

Sun wastes no time. He orders the servants to throw out all of Li’s belongings. One subordinate hesitates. He is holding Li’s favorite birdcage. He is scared to toss it.

Sun tells the man to stand by the door with the bird until Li comes back. The servant isn't stupid. He realizes Li is never coming back. He immediately calls Sun "President" and pledges his loyalty.

The next day, the staff throws a massive party to celebrate Sun’s promotion. He loves every second of it.

Financial Ruin and Rabbit Surgery

Wen Yu drops by the clinic. She wants to talk about the Cloud-shaped Jade. She looks at the books instead. The clinic is bleeding money. Fu Sheng treats poor patients for free. He doesn't charge a dime. Wen Yu loses her temper and kicks him out of his own workplace.

Fu Sheng has other problems. He visits Mr. Luo and offers a cure. Luo knows he is dying and refuses to hope. Fu Sheng asks about a servant named Han Shuo. Luo shuts down. Fu Sheng makes a deal. He will cure the illness. In exchange, Luo must tell the truth.

The cure requires surgery. Fu Sheng practices on rabbits first. It is a disaster. The rabbits die. He blames the scalpel. He visits the best blacksmith in the capital. The knives are still too dull. The blacksmith points him to Wen Yu. Apparently, her family are weapon-making geniuses. She goes to her father for help.

The Cost of Ambition

Sun Siming visits the Golden Cicada Cave. He gets nostalgic. We finally see what drives him. He remembers his brother stealing a cake to keep him alive. His brother was beaten until he became mentally disabled. Sun refuses to be poor again. He clawed his way up to stand equal with people like Wen Yu. He visits the Horse Department next. The gang leader is suspicious. He checks for ambushes. Sun plays it cool. He just wants to drink. The leader buys it.

Corporate restructuring

News of the coup reaches the Wall-Breaking Organization. The Lord is not happy. He hates that Yunting killed Li Zhizhuo to promote a stable boy. Yunting defends herself. She claims Li was disobedient and Sun is useful.

The Lord asks if disobedience warrants death. Yunting doesn't get to answer. Guo Sishui steps up and kills her. Just like that, Yunting is gone. Guo Sishui takes her title as the Xichuan Envoy. The villain roster just got a shake-up.
