The Intern Hunger Games Begins

Welcome to the cutthroat world of Jun'an Law Firm. This isn't just a job interview. It is a gladiator arena with suits and legal briefs. The firm launched the "Shijun Plan" to find the best new talent. Seven interns from top law schools made the cut. They have three months to prove they belong.

The Rental War

Before the first day even starts, we get some drama. Guo Xiaoyu is about to start her job, but she gets caught in a rental scam. The "Nuanchao Apartment" agency goes bust. Tenants are angry. The agency's lawyer tries to scare them off. Guo Xiaoyu freezes up.

Ren Jiatong steps in. She is also a new intern, but she acts like a pro. She writes a hand-written letter on the spot. She claims the agency breached the contract. She demands they fix it or face legal action. She wins the crowd over.

But there is a twist. The landlords want the tenants out because the agency didn't pay them. Jiang Chen shows up. He represents the landlord, who happens to be his aunt. He and Ren Jiatong spar over the law. They eventually cut a deal. Ren Jiatong pays a bit more rent to stay. It solves the problem, but it hurts her wallet. She is broke. She almost clicks on a predatory loan link that night but stops herself.

The Rich Girl and the Realist

The next morning, everyone heads to the office. Yan Fei is the daughter of a massive corporate boss. Her brother tries to pull strings for her. She refuses the help. She wants to make it on her own.

On her way to work, Yan Fei sees a pregnant woman in trouble. She wants to help. Wang Lu, another intern, is with her. He refuses to get involved. He worries about liability. Yan Fei is disgusted and takes the woman to the hospital alone. Later, Wang Lu explains himself. He recorded the license plate and the scene to protect them from lawsuits before he walked away. It was cold, but it was smart. Yan Fei hates it less now.

The Rules of Engagement

The seven interns arrive at Jun'an. Their mentor, Zhou An, lays down the law. The internship lasts three months. There are seven rounds of tasks. Everything earns points. The bottom scorers get cut. Only one or two people will get a job offer.

The firm uses a "Team plus Pool" system. If a lawyer picks you for their team, great. If not, you go into the "Lawyer Pool." You have to hustle to get work from anyone who will give it to you. It is sink or swim.

Secrets and Nepo Babies

Director Zhuang Xin meets the group. They do introductions. Guo Xiaoyu is bubbly. Ren Jiatong and Jiang Chen have the scariest resumes. But Director Zhuang knows a secret. Ren Jiatong pretended to be a full Jun'an lawyer during that rental dispute. A developer complained about it. Zhuang suppressed the complaint for now.

Lunch time reveals more dynamics. Guo Xiaoyu is bummed she ranked last in the interview. Jiang Chen boldly invites Director Zhuang to lunch. Ren Jiatong realizes something. She connects the dots on Jiang Chen's background. His dad is the founder of another massive firm, Ruocheng. He is legal royalty. She uses this info. She tells him to keep her rental dispute secret. He agrees.

The Printer Defeats Harvard

The interns settle in. Yan Fei hands out gifts. Ren Jiatong stays at her desk while others eat. She emails every lawyer in the firm asking for work. She really wants to impress Partner Bai Xiao.

Jiang Chen tries to network with a lawyer named Song Yifan. Song just tells him to print some files. Jiang Chen went to Harvard, but he can't work a printer. He struggles for ages. He looks up manuals online. Nothing works. Ren Jiatong walks by. She tells him the printer is out of paper. Problem solved.

The First Test

Zhou An drops the first task. It is a traffic accident case. A delivery driver hit a car. The driver is hurt. The police say the car driver is mostly at fault, but the delivery guy shares some blame. The insurance company is refusing to pay.

The interns have four hours. They must pick a side and write a legal opinion. Jiang Chen and Ren Jiatong start typing immediately. The others scramble for research. Guo Xiaoyu stares at her screen. Her document is completely blank. The clock is ticking.
