The Summit and the Surprise
The big AI environmental summit is finally here. Tongchen Company gets a seat at the table with the industry giants. Cheng Rui and Old Yi are thrilled just to be in the room. Li Wu takes the stage and absolutely crushes his speech. The feedback is overwhelmingly positive.
After the event, Li Wu tries to grab dinner with his mentor, Mr. Liu. The professor is too booked up but invites Li Wu to a roundtable the next day. This means Li Wu has to stay in town an extra night. He starts typing a text to tell Cen Jin the bad news. Suddenly, he hears her voice. Cen Jin is standing right behind him. She snuck in to watch his speech and loved every minute of it.
Cheng Rui gets his own surprise. He spots Tao Wanwen at the venue. She just flew back that morning. Her company sent her to open a branch in Yi City. She kept it quiet to surprise him. The long-distance struggle is officially over for them.
Future Plans and Old Ghosts
That night, Cen Jin and Li Wu hit the streets. She asks about the name of his project, "Cloud Map." He explains it comes from his childhood in Yunfeng Village. His early years were tough, but the scenery was beautiful. He wants to protect that kind of purity. He also gets serious about his timeline. He wants to be successful by thirty so he can stand proudly next to her.
Back at the hotel, reality crashes the party. Cen Jin gets a wedding invite from an old client. She realizes her ex-husband, Wu Fu, will likely be there. She tries to just send a gift and skip the event. The client calls and insists she attend. She can't say no.
Chun Chang Reaches Her Limit
Chun Chang is having a rough week. Her father's death anniversary is approaching. Her mom is in town but suddenly announces she has to leave. Her stepson got into a fight at school, and she needs to handle it. Chun Chang snaps. She sees lotus root soup on the table. She hates lotus root. Her mom forgot her preferences but remembers everything for the stepson.
Chun Chang storms out and goes to her usual restaurant. She rage-eats to deal with the anger. Shen Yiyang walks in and spots her. She ignores him and keeps stuffing her face. It backfires immediately. Her stomach seizes up, and she passes out. Shen Yiyang rushes her to the hospital.
The doctor diagnoses gastric spasms. Chun Chang vents to Shen Yiyang. She feels her mom stopped caring about her after her dad died. Shen Yiyang offers a different perspective. He suggests her mom might be avoiding the anniversary because the grief is too heavy.
The Wedding Crashers
Li Wu secures Series B funding for the company. He announces bonuses for the staff. Everyone cheers except Old Yi. He looks bitter that Li Wu is getting all the credit.
The wedding day arrives. Cen Jin shows up alone. Wu Fu is there with his new wife, looking flashy and smug. He comes over to brag about his happy marriage. He even offers to set Cen Jin up with someone. Suddenly, a woman named Bian Xinran tries to splash red wine on Cen Jin. Li Wu appears out of nowhere. He blocks the move and pulls Cen Jin close. The wine hits the floor. Li Wu tells Wu Fu plainly that he and Cen Jin are dating. Wu Fu leaves in a huff. The old colleagues look on with envy at Cen Jin's handsome boyfriend.
Clearing the Air
Chun Chang sees her mom off at the station. She asks Shen Yiyang to go to the cemetery with her. They arrive and find fresh flowers on the grave. Her mom visited alone before leaving town. Chun Chang realizes she was wrong. She leans her head on Shen Yiyang's shoulder.
Later, Shen Yiyang disappears again. Chun Chang mopes at her bar. A friend tips her off that Shen Yiyang is coming back to town. The friend also reveals that Shen Yiyang overheard Chun Chang talking about "ambiguous relationships" a few days ago. She realizes he misunderstood her.
Chun Chang rushes to the train station to pick him up. She hands him bug spray and tries to explain herself. Shen Yiyang cuts her off. He doesn't want games. He wants to date seriously.
Meanwhile, Cen Jin's mom is scrolling through social media. She sees a photo of Cen Jin and Li Wu holding hands at the wedding.
