A Brother's Last Stand
This episode hits hard right out of the gate. We don't get a slow buildup. Qiao Renyu holds his sister's hand and plays his final card. He asks Yazaki Kanji for some apple pie. It sounds like a dying man's last request. It is actually a code. He drops three specific words into the conversation: apple pie, church, and double wall. Qiao Yinwan picks up on it instantly.
Sawa Eisaku tries to play tough. He warns Renyu to stop hiding things. He threatens to keep Yinwan trapped in Hong Kong. Renyu pretends to break. He agrees to give up the location of the printing plates. He just wants his sister released first.
Yinwan gets ready to leave. Renyu stands by the window. He shouts to her. He tells her to be proud of him. Then he makes his move. Renyu pulls a hidden steak knife and jams it into Yazaki Kanji’s chest. He doesn't wait for the guards to grab him. He jumps straight out the window. He chooses death to protect the secret. Yinwan watches her brother die right in front of her. It is a gut-wrenching scene. Even the Japanese officers look shook.
The Melody of a Map
Yinwan doesn't have time to grieve properly. She visits her brother's grave and hops on a rickshaw. The Japanese agents tail her. He Xian and his team follow from a distance. She stops at a music shop and buys a violin. She starts visiting places that meant something to her and Renyu. She plays her violin at each spot.
Sawa orders a deep dive into the siblings' history. He wants to know everyone they ever met. But he finds nothing suspicious yet.
We learn that Yinwan set this up yesterday. She told the group the music is the key. She plans to play at multiple locations to throw off the enemy. Most of it is noise. But one specific song marks the real spot. The hiding place is exactly fifty meters opposite where she plays that tune.
The Old Orphanage
Sawa finds a gap in the files. The siblings' childhood records are missing. Yinwan stands by the sea and plays "Safe Journey." Huang Zixia crunches the numbers. The location points to the Japanese Navy Club.
Ke Zhengping digs into the building's history. It used to be the Ren'ai Orphanage. The Japanese army seized it after Hong Kong fell. He Xian connects the dots. The siblings grew up there. The "double wall" Renyu mentioned must be inside that building.
The resistance gears up. Ke Lin sends out the "Buddha's Hand" signal. The Guangzhou unit prepares to receive the package. Guo Qiwen visits Ma Wanqi with food. She also slips him a custom engagement ring.
Fire in the Hole
Sawa tells Yazaki about a new lead. He found their old guardian, Father Brown from St. John's Church. He suspects the siblings used a religious code. But he is too slow.
A fire breaks out at the Navy Club. It is chaos. He Xian and the crew roll up disguised as firefighters. They storm the building. They find the double wall. The printing plates are right where Renyu said they would be. They load the cargo into the fire truck. The truck speeds through the Japanese checkpoints without issue.
Sawa rushes to the scene. He finds a pile of burning straw in the courtyard. The fire was a decoy. The plates are gone.
The Escape Plan
Ke Lin links up with Long Haishan. Ma Wanqi and Huang Sanhe wait by the sea. Ma Wanqi makes a call. He wants He Xian to make it back to Macau for his son's birthday. He decides to escort He Xian personally.
The heat is turning up. Huang Gongjie heads to the pier to lock it down. Sawa is done taking chances. He tells Yazaki to arrest Yinwan immediately.
