Episode Summary
Xiao Shuai confesses to the police while Liu Tianye tries and fails to divorce his wife to protect her. Wen Jiangyan marries Xu Jiajun, but Liu Tianye warns the groom to stay out of the criminal business. Years later in 2013, a construction site controlled by Zhang Xin collapses. Her subordinate Liu Yi tries to run but is murdered by the hitman Gua Zi Ge. A witness films the body disposal, triggering a massive government investigation into the Xinrui Group.

The Mole Hunt
We start back in 1990 with a quick look at the good old days. Jiang Dayong is full of hope. He hangs out with Wen Qin and the family. They dream about a perfect future. But reality hits hard in the present. Xiao Shuai is in bad shape. He admits He Biao kidnapped and framed him. The root cause is a messy business dispute with Liu Tianye.
We also learn about a new player. A hitman named Gua Zi Ge. He has no record. He is a ghost. People link him to Su Hongbao’s death. They suspect he killed Xu Li too. Ye Tianyou thinks this hitman has powerful backers. Zhong Yanning points out the obvious. The bad guys knew the police schedule. That means there is a mole on the inside.
Wedding Bells and Divorce Papers
Liu Tianye visits Zhao Village. He sees Zhao Ziyi and her daughter. He drops a bomb on them. He hands over divorce papers. He wants to cut ties to protect them from his crumbling world.
But the village is in celebration mode. It is Wen Jiangyan and Xu Jiajun’s wedding day. Liu Tianye and Qin Feng show up to support the family. Wen Jiangyan looks happy. She holds her brothers' hands. It is the picture of peace she always wanted.
The party ends. Qin Feng sits alone. He watches his friends have fun. He feels isolated. Zhao Ziyi finds him. She asks about the divorce. Liu Tianye admits he is scared his enemies will hurt his wife and child. Zhao Ziyi shuts that down. She grabs his hand. She refuses to sign. She is staying.
Business and Betrayal
The next day brings trouble. Zhang Xin drives Xu Jiajun home. Xu Jiajun gets ambitious. He goes to Liu Tianye’s club. He offers to use his new status to help with the "business." He implies he knows about the dirty work. Liu Tianye snaps. He gets angry. He warns Xu Jiajun to back off. He tells him to be a good husband to Wen Jiangyan and stay clean.
Liu Tianye ignores the warning signs. He signs a deal with Xinrui Group. It is a big ceremony. Peng Hanzhang attends the dinner. The mysterious boss finally shows his face. Everyone pays attention.
Fast Forward to 2013
We jump ahead in time. Qin Feng is sick with a high fever. He dreams about Wang Tao and Hu Xiaoyue carrying him to a hospital. It feels real.
Politics are getting messy in Hanzhou City. Chen Shui runs the government office. He greets Ye Tianyou with a smile. But his eyes tell a different story. He looks down on him.
Xu Jiajun is still trying to play the game. He drinks with a client. Wen Jiangyan steps in. She cancels the deal cold. She knows the client only wants access to Liu Tianye. She hates it.
Corruption is everywhere. Zhao Peng complains to Zhang Xin. A man named Boss Zhou is ruining his mining business. Zhang Xin smiles. She reveals Boss Zhou works for her. She controls everything. She keeps the profits in the family.
The Collapse
Disaster strikes a construction site. A building collapses. It is a massive safety failure. Liu Yi runs the site for Zhang Xin. He panics. He grabs a USB drive and tries to flee. He thinks he can escape. He is wrong. Gua Zi Ge finds him. The hitman silences him permanently.
Gua Zi Ge tries to move the body that night. He makes a mistake. A worker named Fang Lei sees him. Fang Lei films the act.
The police arrive the next day. They find blood. They suspect foul play immediately. The city government panics. Leaders demand answers. They set up a special task force. They are going to tear Xinrui Group apart to find the truth.
