Episode Summary
Liu Tianfei and Liu Tianye tighten their leash on Xu Jiajun through threats and blackmail. Xu tries to defect to Zhang Xin but gets rejected. Ye Tianyou reveals he faked his retirement to lead a secret task force, recruiting Qin Feng. A whistleblower, Feng Jiang, exposes the corruption behind the construction accident, causing panic for Hong Mushou. Feng Jiang confronts Zhao Wenxuan about his father's crimes and gets beaten up for it.

Ghosts of the Past and Bar Brawls
We start with a heavy dose of 2008. Liu Tianfei can't shake the memory. He keeps replaying the disposal of Ma Jin's body in his head. It is a gruesome thought. Qin Feng isn't doing much better. He is still drowning in grief over Hu Xiaoyue’s sacrifice. He can’t seem to pull himself out of it.
Cut to the present day. Zhao Wenxuan is partying at a bar with his crew. He bumps into a stranger. The guy is a bully and starts pushing Zhao around. Suddenly, Liu Tianfei steps in. He beats the bully down without mercy. He encourages Zhao to take a swing too. Zhao hesitates at first. But he eventually gives in to the peer pressure. He hits back. The adrenaline gets to him. He arrogantly buys out the whole bar to celebrate.
Horses, Wine, and Gunpoint
The next day, Zhang Xin heads to the stables. Wen Jiangyan is there practicing her riding. She looks elegant on the horse. Wen asks about Zhang’s assistant. Zhang lies smoothly. She claims the assistant just quit.
Elsewhere, Liu Tianfei takes Xu Jiajun to dinner. Xu is clueless. He complains the wine is cheap. He doesn't know Liu Tianye already knows about the smuggling. Then, they drag in Boss Wei. Xu starts sweating bullets. He admits he lost money. He was just trying to fill the financial hole. He mentions buying an expensive watch and hiding assets in another property. Liu Tianye pulls a gun. He points it right at Xu. He warns him to treat Wen Jiangyan right. The message is loud and clear.
No Way Out
Xu Jiajun is desperate. He goes to Zhang Xin. He admits Liu Tianye knows about his side business. He wants to leave Longwan. He asks Zhang for protection. Zhang Xin shuts him down cold. She tells him to stay right where he is. He is useless to her outside of Longwan.
Xu finally realizes the truth. He is just a pawn. He gets angry and tries to flip the table. But Zhang Xin holds all the cards. She blackmails him with his past crimes. She even threatens Wen Jiangyan’s life. Xu has no choice. He has to keep spying on Longwan.
The Secret Task Force
Wen Jiangyan sees a smear campaign against Qin Feng online. It’s Xu’s people doing it. She confronts her husband. Xu tries to blame Liu Tianye. Wen doesn't buy it. She senses he is hiding something. She decides to investigate him herself.
Meanwhile, Wen Bo checks the accident lists. He finds a name, Feng Hai. The victim's brother, Feng Jiang, is acting strangely calm. Qin Feng and Mai Hongchao go to check it out. They find Feng Jiang's house full of dust. Nobody has lived there for a while.
They realize they are being followed. They shake the tail. Then they follow the guy back to a secret room. It turns out to be Director Chu’s people. Ye Tianyou is there too. Qin Feng is shocked. He thought his mentor retired. Ye explains the situation. Someone faked his medical records to force him out. He played along to form a secret task force. Now, Qin and Mai are part of the team.
The Whistleblower
That night, Feng Jiang takes a beating. Liu Tianye’s goons leave him bloody. They warn him to keep his mouth shut since he took their money. But the beating backfires. The next day, Feng Jiang goes public. He reports the construction death using his real name. He claims gangs and officials are conspiring together. The news goes viral immediately.
Hong Mushou is stressed. He complains to Peng Hanzhang. He just wants to retire peacefully without scandals in Hanzhou. He tells Peng to fix this mess fast. The higher-ups are sending a special investigation team.
Like Father, Like Son
Feng Jiang wants justice. He goes to Hanzhou Xuan to find Zhao Peng. He runs into the son, Zhao Wenxuan, instead. Feng lists all of Zhao Peng’s crimes. Zhao Wenxuan snaps. He thinks the guy is lying about his father. He beats Feng Jiang senseless.
