Episode Summary
In 2002, Old Mai goes to prison to protect his team. In the present, Ye Siyuan tries to escape Luo Bo's control but is captured and forced to cooperate. Xiao Fei and Liu Tianye run a con on Luo Bo regarding village land rights. The police launch a raid on Rainbow Network, forcing manager Qian Yuhong to flee with cash. Qin Feng and Wang Tao realize the mole leaking information is likely a member of their own squad.

Old Mai Takes the Fall
We start back in 2002. Things get heavy immediately. Old Mai steps up and takes full responsibility for a violent beating incident. He does this to protect the team. He tells Qin Feng and Hu Xiaoyue to focus on solving Xu Li’s case. Then, the police haul him away. It’s a selfless move that sets the tone for everything that follows.
Siyuan’s Failed Escape
Back in the present, Qin Feng plays a dangerous game. He leaks information to Captain Zhong about Ye Siyuan hanging out with the shady Luo Bo. Zhong isn't happy. He tells Qin Feng to keep it professional and ignore personal feelings.
Meanwhile, Ye Siyuan is desperate. He hates being under Luo Bo’s thumb. He tries to flee the city to escape the pressure. It doesn't work. Luo Bo’s goons catch him and drag him back to a villa. Siyuan tries to fight back. He wants to protect Ye Tianyou from getting dragged into this mess. But he gets beaten down. Fear takes over. He agrees to cooperate with Luo Bo just to stay alive.
The Village Hustle
Xiao Fei heads back to Longwan Village. He pushes the villagers to rent out their land. Wen Qin checks with the locals at the ancestral hall. But this is all a setup. Xiao Fei is actually working with Liu Tianye. They are testing the villagers.
The village votes on the land deal. The answer is a hard no. These people love their hometown too much to sell out.
Back at the station, Captain Zhong grills Qin Feng about the Bole Wealth Management investigation. Qin Feng lies. He says there are no real leads. He is hiding his hand.
Corporate Snakes
Xiao Fei takes his con to the next level. He shows Luo Bo a list of "voters" and claims the land deal is moving forward. Luo Bo buys it. He takes Xiao Fei to Rainbow Network Entertainment. We meet the general manager, Qian Yuhong. She brings out a contract.
Song Hao is also there. He is a piece of work. He tries to drive a wedge between Luo Bo and his father-in-law. Luo Bo feels slighted. Later, Song Hao hits on Qian Yuhong. He complains that his wife is boring. Qian Yuhong shuts him down. She tells him to remember his place as a son-in-law and not ruin his future.
The Informant and the Raid
Old Mai is still useful. He tails Luo Bo and films him with Xiao Fei. He sends the footage to Qin Feng. Qin Feng rushes to a nightclub and pulls his undercover man out. It’s Liu Tianye. Liu explains he has successfully infiltrated Luo Bo’s circle. He even found transfer records. Qin Feng thinks it is too dangerous. He wants Liu to abort the mission.
The next day, Bian Jing and Wang Tao find dirt on Bole Wealth Management. Qin Feng wants to move. Captain Zhong is hesitant. Qin Feng uses reverse psychology. He claims the team has a bad reputation for being lazy. Zhong gets annoyed and authorizes a full investigation.
They track the money between Rainbow Network and Bole. Qian Yuhong gets tipped off. She panics. She orders her staff to delete data and withdraws cash. The police realize she is spooked. They start the manhunt.
Closing the Net
Qin Feng drops a bomb on Captain Zhong. He admits this case might implicate Ye Siyuan. Ye Tianyou hears this. He is shocked. But he stands firm. He says the law comes first.
Qian Yuhong is on the run. She hides in a villa with her cash. Song Hao shows up. He offers to be her "protector." It’s creepy. She refuses. Instead, she calls her cousin for a fake ID to flee the country.
We get a brief moment of comedy amidst the tension. Wang Tao tries to help his daughter with math homework. He fails miserably. He asks Qin Feng for help. Qin Feng fakes it but eventually passes the problem to a teacher.
The episode ends on a dark note. Wang Tao and Qin Feng talk privately. They know there is a mole. They ruled out Captain Zhong. That means the traitor is one of their own teammates.
