Episode Summary
Hu Xiu and Qin Xiaoyi bond over a late-night chat at the loft. A scandal involving Qin Xiaoyi's father gets his company disqualified from a competition. They suspect a rival company is behind it. Later, Hu Xiu acts as Qin Xiaoyi's driver for a wedding. She is horrified to discover the groom is her ex-fiancé, Zhang Qiran.

The Morning After
Qin Xiaoyi is a gentleman. He brings a drunk Hu Xiu back to the loft. He settles her on the sofa. Then he goes upstairs to work. He actually locks his own door to keep things professional. Hu Xiu wakes up later. The alcohol has worn off. She realizes she is back at the loft. She feels embarrassed about blacking out. She wants to apologize.
Qin Xiaoyi is still awake. He has a problem though. His door lock is acting up. He needs water. He asks Hu Xiu to pass a glass up to him. She uses a bamboo pole to hoist the water up to his balcony. It is a funny moment. They end up chatting from their separate balconies. Hu Xiu asks the big question. Why did he hire her? Qin Xiaoyi gives a straight answer. He saw potential in her college designs. He wants her to reclaim the skills she threw away.
Commutes and Scandals
Morning comes. Hu Xiu is rushing to get ready. Qin Xiaoyi is already in a suit. He knows she is broke. He offers her a ride to work. Hu Xiu gets in the car. She starts worrying immediately. She just got hired. She thinks colleagues will call her a nepotism hire if they see them together.
Qin Xiaoyi does not care. He says they are just landlord and tenant. His conscience is clear. They get to the office. Hu Xiu’s worries are pointless. No one cares about gossip today. The company is in crisis mode. Someone posted a nasty story online. It claims Qin Xiaoyi’s father made a huge design error in the past. The organizers disqualified the company from a major competition because of this.
Chasing the Source

The Wedding Crashers
Qin Xiaoyi has another meeting. He asks Hu Xiu to be his designated driver. She agrees. It is a chance to be around industry pros. The next day, the job continues. He takes her to a wedding. He designed the hotel where it is happening. He is also friends with the bride’s father.
Hu Xiu loves the building. The design impresses her. The wedding atmosphere is happy. Qin Xiaoyi introduces her to the bride's father as his new assistant. Everything is going great. Then she sees the groom. Her stomach drops. She feels sick. The groom is Zhang Qiran. He is her ex-boyfriend. The one involved in her own runaway bride situation.
Hu Xiu feels like vomiting. She covers her mouth and runs off. The bride thinks she is just seasick. Qin Xiaoyi is sharp though. He sees the groom staring at Hu Xiu. He knows something is up.
