Spoiler Alert
episode 11 kicked off with Ye Qi and Zuo Qian Dai sharing a sweet moment under the night sky. Seeing how much Zuo Qian Dai loved the stars, Ye Qi decided to up the romance ante with a Ferris wheel ride. The plan? To get her to the very top for the ultimate celestial view. Classic, right? Well, almost. In a bit of a fumble, Ye Qi paid while Zuo Qian Dai hopped in first, meaning he ended up in a separate car when his turn came. So close, yet so far! They ended up communicating through the glass, a couple of cars apart. While it wasn't the cozy ride they probably envisioned, this little hiccup unintentionally led to some beautiful shots and, more importantly, a major lightbulb moment for Ye Qi’s creative work.
Back from their team outing, Ye Qi channeled that Ferris wheel inspiration into his latest comic. Here’s where things get juicy: the inner thoughts of his comic characters perfectly mirrored Zuo Qian Dai’s own feelings from that night. Naturally, Zuo Qian Dai saw this and thought Ye Qi was some kind of mind-reader. She got so excited, convinced he was confessing his feelings through his art, that she was this close to confessing her own feelings to him. But, of course, in true drama fashion, Chai Zi Yu burst in right at that critical moment, completely derailing the confession train. Turns out, Chai Zi Yu was stressing about an upcoming mixer and needed some moral support.
Initially, Ye Qi wasn't really in the mood to help, still stuck on a creative block with his comic. But Chai Zi Yu’s plea sparked an idea: why not role-play the mixer scene to find some inspiration? To make it feel authentic, Ye Qi really threw himself into the role. After every bit of dialogue from Chai Zi Yu, he’d pull Zuo Qian Dai aside to the restroom for a quick strategy session. Despite their best efforts, both Ye Qi and Chai Zi Yu felt their portrayal of a boy-girl mixer was falling flat. Their solution? Get the only actual girl present, Zuo Qian Dai, to play the female role in their little improv session.
Later, Ye Qi and Zuo Qian Dai went out for a stroll, hoping a change of scenery would spark more ideas. They stumbled upon a couple in the middle of a public confession, and Ye Qi, ever the opportunist for material (or so it seemed), took the chance to ask Zuo Qian Dai some questions. This, predictably, led Zuo Qian Dai to once again believe Ye Qi was gearing up for his own confession. She was so thrilled that she rushed to tell Zhou Jie Yue all about it during a meal at the cafeteria.
Zhou Jie Yue, however, had a slightly different reaction. Hearing about Zuo Qian Dai’s seemingly fast-paced romantic developments made her a bit miffed, especially since Jiang Ruo Song wasn't showing any initiative on his end. Taking matters into her own hands, Zhou Jie Yue challenged Jiang Ruo Song to a basketball game, even going full boss-mode and taking over the court with her crew. The guys, including Jiang Ruo Song, were pretty annoyed to see the girls dominating their turf. Finally, Jiang Ruo Song manned up and tried to reclaim the court. Zhou Jie Yue laid down a condition: if he danced for her, they’d get the court back. Surprisingly, Jiang Ruo Song agreed, and his dance moves turned out to be incredibly captivating, impressing everyone watching, Zhou Jie Yue included.
Meanwhile, Zuo Qian Dai headed to the school's comic club, where some girls were gushing over a story in a shojo monthly magazine. But when Zuo Qian Dai saw some of Ye Qi's dialogue in the comic featured, her heart sank. She completely misinterpreted it as Ye Qi using his comic to reject her, leaving her devastated. (Little did she know, the sneaky Qian Ye had secretly altered the content!) To cope with her sadness, Zuo Qian Dai started burying herself in activities to keep her mind off things.
On Ye Qi's side, he was furious. The published comic didn't reflect what he intended to express at all, thanks to Qian Ye’s meddling. He found it strange that Zuo Qian Dai hadn't come by to work on the comic illustrations and sent her a text to ask what was up, but he never got a reply.
