Episode Summary

Episode 14 was packed with comedic misunderstandings and romantic developments. Lu Dao mistakenly thought Gu Zheng Xing was a cross-dresser, leading to an awkward apology. Ye Qi, inspired by Zuo Qian Dai, embarked on a mission to make her heart flutter, starting with a surprise gift in the library. Meanwhile, Zhou Jie Yue continued her prank of making Jiang Ruo Song fall asleep with a song and then drawing on his face, much to his confusion and Ye Qi's amusement (and manga inspiration). Lu Dao had another awkward encounter with Gu Zheng Xing involving her legs and a high shelf. Finally, Zuo Qian Dai and Ye Qi got kicked out of class after a dispute over a USB stick, which led to Zuo Qian Dai learning that Ye Qi hadn't actually rejected her in his manga.

Spoiler Alert

The episode kicked off with the girls – Lu Dao, Zuo Qian Dai, and Zhou Jie Yue – deep in a gaming session and, naturally, boy talk. Lu Dao dropped a mini-bombshell: she stumbled upon a shojo manga and a bunch of heartfelt notes in Gu Zheng Xing's dorm, leading her to believe he might have a secret penchant for ladies' attire. Zuo Qian Dai, ever the insider, quickly debunked this, explaining Gu Zheng Xing was just doing research to help Ye Qi with his manga. Phew, crisis averted? Not quite. Lu Dao, feeling a bit sheepish, decided the best way to apologize was to... ask Gu Zheng Xing about his preferred style of underwear. Yeah, that went about as well as you'd expect, leaving Gu Zheng Xing pretty ticked off. Later that night, after a brief chat about sexy swimsuits (because, why not?), Lu Dao and Zhou Jie Yue conked out, leaving Zuo Qian Dai feeling surprisingly content. She even snapped a pic of the three of them and posted it online. Little did she know, a worried Ye Qi, unable to sleep, saw her post. Inspiration struck, and he gave her a call. A very sleepy Zuo Qian Dai answered, mumbled some nonsense, and only realized who called after she'd already hung up. Classic!

The next morning, Ye Qi was all systems go, texting Zuo Qian Dai a bold promise: he was going to help her get that heart-fluttering feeling back. Zuo Qian Dai had a moment of excitement, but then, fearing it was too good to be true (or that she'd just get pranked again), she brushed it off and went back to her beauty sleep. Meanwhile, Ye Qi was already plotting with Chai Zi Yu, planning a "very special gift" to kickstart Operation Heart-Flutter.

His first move? Surprising Zuo Qian Dai in the library with said gift, which, of course, made her jump out of her skin. Libraries are for quiet contemplation, Ye Qi!

Elsewhere, the comedy gold continued with Jiang Ruo Song. While he was trying to enjoy a game of basketball, a mysterious song started playing, and like clockwork, Jiang Ruo Song just… passed out. His teammates were about to call for medical backup when Zhou Jie Yue swooped in, stopped them, and then proceeded to use Jiang Ruo Song's sleeping face as her personal canvas, drawing a lovely caricature. Poor guy. He later sought out Ye Qi, desperate for a solution. Apparently, this wasn't a one-time thing; Zhou Jie Yue had been using the "Lorelei" song to lull him to sleep and then unleash her artistic talents on his face. Jiang Ruo Song was understandably confused about why this specific song had such an effect. Ye Qi, knowing that revealing Zhou Jie Yue was Lorelei would probably send Jiang Ruo Song into a meltdown, gave him a super vague explanation. Ever the opportunist, Ye Qi also filed away this whole Zhou Jie Yue/Jiang Ruo Song saga as prime manga material.

The award for "Most Awkward Misunderstanding - Part 2" goes to Lu Dao and Gu Zheng Xing. Lu Dao, sporting shorts, was trying to grab a skirt from a high shelf. As she stretched, Gu Zheng Xing walked by and caught a glimpse of her legs – which, in his mind, were the exact perfect legs he'd seen in a photo he admired. He got super excited and rushed over, just as Lu Dao lost her balance and fell. The kicker? Gu Zheng Xing didn't even realize the legs belonged to Lu Dao and actually thought the "owner" of the perfect legs had just walked away. Oh, the irony!

Finally, the classroom scene! Zuo Qian Dai was completely distracted, her mind racing about Ye Qi’s "heart-fluttering plan." So, when the teacher asked about homework, she was caught totally off guard. Ye Qi, smooth as ever, jumped in with a USB stick, claiming their assignment was on it. Zuo Qian Dai, now paranoid that plugging in the USB would unleash some embarrassing public display designed to make her heart flutter, insisted she hadn't done the homework. Ye Qi, however, was adamant they plug it in. Their little tug-of-war over the USB drive eventually got them both kicked out of class by a very annoyed teacher. But hey, silver linings! Outside, Zuo Qian Dai finally got a crucial piece of information from Ye Qi: those harsh rejection lines in the manga? Totally not his words! Qian Ye added them. This was huge for Zuo Qian Dai – it meant Ye Qi hadn't actually rejected her. She was dying to hear what Ye Qi's actual last line was supposed to be, but at the same time, when she asked, she kind of didn't want him to spoil the surprise.
