Episode Summary
Lu Chi continues to fake amnesia to remain with Shi Fake, publicly declaring her his wife and foiling her family's attempts to separate them. While Shi Fake tries to matchmake her friend Shen Tongyun with the kind Scholar Wang, a charming new suitor, Li Ang, wins Shen Tongyun's affection. Shi Fake discovers Lu Chi's deception, but her subsequent plan to expose Li Ang's true nature backfires, resulting in Shen Tongyun agreeing to an engagement with him instead.

The games continue as Lu Chi doubles down on his "amnesia," pulling Shi Fake and everyone around them deeper into his elaborate charade, while a new, formidable rival enters the scene.
To avoid being sent home by Shi Fake’s concerned father and two brothers, Lu Chi feigns a headache and collapses back into bed. Overcome with worry, Shi Fake insists he stay, personally standing guard over him all night. The next morning, her family is shocked to find Lu Chi embracing a sleepy Shi Fake. They rush in to pull them apart, but Lu Chi is committed to the act. He declares that Shi Fake is his wife and that they must marry, promptly whisking her away before her stunned family can react.
Meanwhile, news of Lu Chi’s memory loss reaches Marquis Wu'an. Knowing that the influential Shen Tongyun has a taste for handsome men and has already taken an interest in Lu Chi, the Marquis sees an opportunity. He plots to introduce his own dashing nephew, Li Ang, to Shen Tongyun.
With Lu Chi now constantly by her side, Shi Fake has no choice but to bring him along to the Official Matchmaker's Office. There, Matchmaker Deng deliberately causes trouble for her. Shi Fake tries to smooth things over by claiming Lu Chi is the man Shen Tongyun fancies, but it's Lu Chi who steps up. Seeing Shi Fake being bullied, he fiercely defends her, announcing to everyone present that she is his wife.
Later, while out buying a painting, the pair runs into Shen Tongyun. Annoyed at seeing them together, she listens as Shi Fake explains Lu Chi's amnesia. Shen Tongyun, however, offers to take Lu Chi home to care for him herself. Shi Fake, unwilling to let him go but unable to object directly, is forced to mediate. Lu Chi, however, makes the decision for her by flatly refusing the offer.
That evening, Shi Fake's brothers plot to drug Lu Chi to get him away from their sister. But Lu Chi easily sees through their plan and tricks the second brother, Shi Chongshan, into drinking the drugged concoction instead. With them out of the way, Lu Chi and Shi Fake spend a quiet evening playing games until she drifts off to sleep. He gently carries her to bed and watches over her. When she wakes to find him by her bedside, he seizes the moment to embrace her and call her "my wife" once more. Believing he is still unwell, Shi Fake doesn't resist and even feels a secret thrill.
The next day, another outing to buy art leads to an encounter with Shen Tongyun and Scholar Wang. Shi Fake notices how genuinely happy Shen Tongyun seems with the modest scholar and senses a potential match. To test the waters, Lu Chi playfully belittles Shen Tongyun, and just as they hoped, Scholar Wang immediately jumps to her defense. Encouraged, Shi Fake urges the scholar to pursue Shen Tongyun.
Though initially hesitant due to his humble background, Scholar Wang musters the courage to confess his feelings. Shen Tongyun is visibly moved, but before she can respond, Matchmaker Deng arrives with the handsome and distinguished Li Ang. Shen Tongyun is instantly captivated. Feeling utterly defeated, Scholar Wang tries to leave, but Shi Fake refuses to give up.
The situation takes another dramatic turn when Shi Fake overhears Lu Chi talking with his confidant, Lu Yi, and accidentally admitting that his amnesia is a lie. She is initially angry at the deception but finds she can't stay mad at him.
Putting her feelings aside, Shi Fake's earlier words seem to have had an effect, as Shen Tongyun hesitates to finalize an engagement with Li Ang. However, Shi Fake's attempt to secure a happy ending for Scholar Wang backfires spectacularly. She brings him to the next meeting between Shen Tongyun and Li Ang, planning to expose Li Ang's true character, but her plan goes awry and instead pushes a flustered Shen Tongyun to agree to a formal betrothal with Li Ang.
