New Alliances in a Land of Ruin
Meanwhile, Zhang Suan has completed his grueling journey up the Sky-reaching Ladder, arriving in the Ninth Heaven. He tells a mysterious old boatman he seeks the realm of the Great Sage Xuanzun. Instead, the boatman delivers him to the desolate The Abyss of Gui Xu. There, he comes face-to-face with the imprisoned Fan Ling'er, and a fight immediately breaks out. After recognizing one another, Zhang Suan learns that Fan Ling'er knows Li Qingyue and desperately questions her to find out where she is. As a parting gift, Fan Ling'er shows him the path out of the The Abyss of Gui Xu, but not before secretly pocketing his jade pendant.
Upon his escape, Zhang Suan stumbles upon a wounded Xiao Jingshan, who forces Zhang Suan to become his disciple. Sensing an opportunity, Xiao Jingshan bestows his life's work and a unique sword style upon him. Fueled by his burning hatred for Bai Jiusi, Zhang Suan names the technique the "God-Slaying Sword Style."
A Painful Confrontation
The central drama unfolds as Long Yuan captures Li Qingyue. He has identified her as the legendary Four Spirits Immortal Venerable, a truth confirmed by her ability to command the powerful Blazing Fire.Though she denies it, both Long Yuan and Bai Jiusi are now certain of her true identity.
Li Qingyue is imprisoned, but her spirits lift when she sees Bai Jiusi approaching, believing he has come to her rescue. Her hope shatters as he begins to interrogate her instead. He accuses her of orchestrating everything to reclaim her past powers, pointing out that their abilities are intrinsically linked—as one's magic weakens, the other's grows stronger.
Heartbroken, Li Qingyue explains she only unleashed the Blazing Fire to save him from mortal danger. The most devastating blow comes when she realizes he has never truly seen her; he has always been calling for "A'yue," the name of another woman. She has been nothing more than a substitute. Desperate, she asks if his feelings for her were ever real, but his crushing silence is all the answer she needs.
Devastated by this truth, Li Qingyue recklessly unleashes her Blazing Fire within the prison array, severely injuring herself. Because their bodies and powers are connected, Bai Jiusi’s own wounds worsen in tandem. At the sight of this, Ning Yan pleads with Bai Jiusi to let Li Qingyue go. He finally relents, allowing Ning Yan to take her away.
However, the episode ends on a tense cliffhanger. Despite Bai Jiusi's order, Long Yuan refuses to release Li Qingyue. He has discovered that the White Snake is no longer in the Nine Nethers, leading him to suspect that she may not be dead after all.
