A Desperate Plea and a Silent Refusal
The episode opens with Long Yuan leading the charge, kneeling before Bai Jiusi and begging him to seal Li Qingyue with the Heaven-Turning Seal. He argues that Bai Jiusi, having been previously wounded by the seal, is the only one who can wield it now without sustaining damage. The Four Venerables echo the sentiment, warning that the Sovereign's awakening could spell disaster for all three realms. The Xuantian Venerable even threatens to take matters into his own hands, leveraging the safety of the Immeasurable Stele. Through it all, Bai Jiusi remains stoic and silent, refusing to give in to their demands.
A Daring, Doomed Rescue
Meanwhile, Zhang Suan, having miraculously received a powerful cultivation technique from a master, makes a bold move. He ascends the Heaven-Ascending Ladder, breaking into the heavily guarded Immortal Realm to rescue the imprisoned Li Qingyue. Though his power has grown immensely, their escape attempt triggers an alarm, bringing Bai Jiusi to block their path.
Zhang Suan fights with everything he has but is ultimately no match for Bai Jiusi and is gravely injured. Seeing him wounded, a protective Li Qingyue draws her sword on Bai Jiusi. When he tries to reason with her, reminding her of their past, she coldly denies being the person he once knew. In a last-ditch effort to protect her, Zhang Suan uses his own life force to land a blow on Bai Jiusi, but is immediately knocked unconscious by a blast of lightning from the newly arrived Long Yuan, who takes Qingyue captive.
A Prison of Jealousy
Later, Bai Jiusi finds himself imprisoned with the unconscious Zhang Suan. When Li Qingyue comes to see them, she anxiously asks Zhang Suan what price he paid for his reckless ascent. He, however, is only concerned for her safety. The tense moment is interrupted when Bai Jiusi suddenly collapses, his "Shixin Wan" affliction acting up. Desperate, Li Qingyue injures herself to force him to her side, then falls to her knees and begs him to save Zhang Suan's life. Witnessing her willingness to die for another man, Bai Jiusi is overcome with a furious, jealous rage.
The Serpent's Awakening
Taking advantage of the situation, Long Yuan unilaterally announces the execution and drags Li Qingyue to the ceremonial grounds. A badly wounded Zhang Suan learns of the plan and rushes to stop it. With no other option, Bai Jiusi begins the ritual, activating the Heaven-Turning Seal. As devastating bolts of heavenly lightning strike Li Qingyue, she cries out in agony. Zhang Suan tries to push through to save her but is held back by Long Yuan.
Just as all seems lost, the ceremony is violently interrupted. Fan Ling'er, having successfully freed the colossal White Snake from the Guixu Abyss, arrives on the scene. The serpent smashes through the lightning formation as Fan Ling'er tosses a sword to Li Qingyue.
In the episode's stunning climax, Li Qingyue catches the blade and lands gracefully atop the White Snake's head. An immense, divine pressure radiates from her, washing over the entire Immortal Realm. Her power is awakened. Bai Jiusi can only stare in disbelief as his plan to seal her—and the woman he thought he knew—is shattered completely.
