Spoiler Alert
The hunt for the real Night Devil reaches its explosive climax. Led by Daoist Master Yunji, Xiao Beiming and his team discover a secret passage in the very courtyard used for the Posuo flower trade. The passage leads to a secluded yard with three trees, located suspiciously close to the Ding Feng Pavilion—a place Xiao Beiming once used as a hideout, and where the Night Devil secretly constructed a hidden chamber.
Aware that his cover is blown, the Night Devil sets a trap. As Zhuge Kongyun and the others move in for the arrest within the passage, heavy stone doors slam shut, trapping them inside a sealed room. With the heroes contained, the Night Devil proceeds with his master plan. Xiao Beiming quickly deduces the horrific goal: to poison the Emperor's sacred Jade Spring. The "blessed water," meant as a gift for the citizens, would be tainted, turning anyone who drinks it into a flesh-eating monster and plunging the entire Great Qi dynasty into chaos.
Trapped and desperate, the group's attempts to break down the stone door are futile. In a moment of sacrifice, Zhong Xueman consumes a Swift Wind Pill, which grants her a massive, temporary surge of internal power. With a final, desperate strike, she shatters the door but collapses, gravely wounded and on the brink of death. Xiao Beiming instructs Zhuge Kongyun to take the others and stop the Night Devil at all costs, while he stays behind with Zhong Xueman. In a heart-wrenching scene, she lies in his arms, caressing his face, terrified she will become a monster and no longer recognize him. The pill's effects overwhelm her, and she transforms, viciously attacking the man she loves.
Meanwhile, Zhuge Kongyun's team arrives at the Jade Spring just as the Night Devil is poisoning the water. A fierce battle erupts, but they are too late to stop him from adding the Swift Wind Pill to the spring. As citizens joyfully line up to drink the "blessed water," the Night Devil watches from the shadows, a triumphant smile on his face.
Three days later, he walks through the city streets, expecting to see carnage and chaos. Instead, life is completely normal. In a shocking twist, Xiao Beiming appears behind him, alive and well.
The truth is finally revealed: the Ningxue Han (Blood-Coagulating Cold) poison that has coursed through Xiao Beiming's veins for years is the perfect antidote to the Swift Wind Pill. When the transformed Zhong Xueman bit him, his blood not only saved him but also cured her of the poison. He then raced to the Jade Spring and secretly added his own blood—the antidote—to the water, saving the entire populace.
Faced with his failed plan, the Night Devil, whose true identity is Tong Shuang, Xiao Beiming's long-lost brother, is filled with despair.Xiao Beiming's attempt to reason with his brother is in vain, as Tong Shuang, seeing no way out, takes his own life.
One month later, peace has returned. Xiao Beiming, Zhong Xueman, Huo Dairong, and Feng Qingzhuo decide to leave the capital and return to Haiya to live in seclusion and help rebuild their home. A year after these events, Xiao Beiming and Zhong Xueman finally hold their wedding ceremony at the Ding Feng Pavilion.Zhuge Kongyun, now the head of the Dark Detective Camp, once again leads the horse for his friend, having lost another bet. But their peace is short-lived, as a new case emerges on their wedding day, heralding a new challenge.
