Episode Summary
A lead on Su Muxin's bank card goes nowhere, but security footage shows he was alive after his supposed death. This sends Zhou Mi into a crisis of confidence, leading to an emotional confession about her past. Just as she steps away from the case, Su Muxin's uncle reveals a shocking secret: Su Muxin has an identical twin. A flashback reveals a paranoid Su Muxin trying to meet with a mysterious figure from his past. We also learn that a man named Xue Xiaowei, seeking his own confrontation, accidentally witnessed Qu Tong murdering Su Muxin.

The Hunt for a Ghost
A False Alarm
The episode kicks off with a lead. Someone used Su Muxin's bank card. Gao Bo gets the alert and immediately orders his team to move in for the arrest. He's ready to close this. Zhou Mi sticks to her guns, though. She believes something else is going on.
It turns out she was right. The police catch up to the person with the card. It's just some kid. He tells them he found the card lying on the ground at a phone shop. It's a complete dead end.
Back at the factory, Fu Wenjiang gives the police a tour of the warehouse. They're looking for cyanide and pulling all the hazardous material logs. Shen Jing and her husband find out the police are there. She gets nervous and tells her husband he needs to get to the factory right away. They don't know that Qu Tong is upstairs, listening to every single word.
The Phone Shop Footage
Zhou Mi decides to check out the phone shop herself. The owner is no help. He says to check the security cameras if they need to see something. Zhang Dongliang pulls the footage. He watches it and sees Su Muxin. He's alive and selling Shi Yue's phone.
He calls Zhou Mi immediately with the news. This changes everything. Zhou Mi had been working off the theory that Su Muxin was the victim. She quickly tells Su Guangyao, the uncle she was trying to get a DNA sample from, that he can go.
Zhou Mi Hits a Wall
A Crisis of Confidence
This new information completely shatters Zhou Mi's confidence. Her entire case was built on Su Muxin being the murder victim. Now, it looks like he's alive and on the run. She starts to think she was arrogant. She wonders if she relied too much on her intuition instead of the facts.
Gao Bo is also losing patience. He wants to pull her from the front lines of the investigation. Zhang Dongliang tries to defend her. He says she's just passionate and throws herself completely into her cases.
A Painful Confession
Later, Zhou Mi has an emotional moment with Zhang Dongliang. She finally breaks down. She explains why she trusts her gut so much. Her parents abandoned her as a child. She grew up with no one she could really count on. She feels like she can't live a normal life because of it.
The Twin Twist
The Uncle's Secret
Zhou Mi decides she needs a break to clear her head. She asks Gao Bo for a leave of absence, and he agrees. Just as she's about to step away, Su Guangyao, the uncle, comes back to the station. He drops a bombshell.

What Really Happened to Su Muxin
A Man on Edge
We flash back to the time before the murder. Su Muxin is extremely paranoid. He visits his mother's grave and feels like someone else has been there. He spots a person in a baseball cap in a parking garage, but the person vanishes instantly. He's so scared that he takes his car to a mechanic. He has the brake pads changed and asks the mechanic to sweep the car for any tracking devices.
He knows someone from his past is still out there. He makes a desperate phone call. He begs the person on the other end, asking what they want. He says he regrets what happened and that his old promise is still good. He asks to meet them in person, and the person agrees.
An Unlucky Witness
We learn about a man named Xue Xiaowei. He's been living in hiding at a massage parlor for years.An old acquaintance, Chen Shuncai, helps him out. He gets Su Muxin's phone number for him and gives him a modified stun gun.
Xue Xiaowei decides he can't keep running from his past. With Chen Shuncai's help, he tracks Su Muxin to his home. He goes there to finally confront him. But he walks right into a nightmare. He witnesses Qu Tong in the middle of murdering Su Muxin.
