Episode Summary
On their anniversary, Qu Tong prepares to kill her husband, Su Muxin, and herself. During a heated argument, Su Muxin mysteriously collapses and dies before she can act. Immediately after, his identical twin brother, Su Mufan, arrives. He convinces a panicked Qu Tong that she may not be the killer and that they must find the real culprit to clear her name. They hide the body and Su Mufan assumes his brother's identity. As the police uncover the twins' tragic family history, Qu Tong receives a blackmail text, pushing her to take desperate measures to find Su Mufan.

An Anniversary to Die For
The Plan
The episode kicks off on Qu Tong and Su Muxin's wedding anniversary. Qu Tong is not celebrating. She's preparing for the end. She writes a suicide note. She mails a mysterious package. Then she calmly puts on her makeup and mixes sodium cyanide into a glass of water.
She looks at a ring Su Muxin gave her in high school, a small reminder of a better time. Then she texts him. She tells him the power is out and asks him to come home. He shows up with a nice bottle of wine, completely clueless.
The Confrontation
Qu Tong has had enough. She tells him to stop pretending. She throws the ring on the table. This isn't the man she fell in love with anymore. She tells him she's done. Su Muxin says he's been putting up with her and her fake family for years.
She offers him everything. The company, the money, a clean break. Just sign the divorce papers. But he refuses. He tells her he will never let her go. He then starts eating the shrimp she cooked, claiming it's proof of her love. He tries to shove food into her mouth.
A Death and a Doppelgänger
The Attack That Wasn't
This is Qu Tong's breaking point. She grabs a kitchen knife and lunges at Su Muxin. But something strange happens. Before she can even get close, he clutches his chest in pain and collapses. He's dead.
Qu Tong checks for a pulse and starts to panic. This was not the plan.
A New Face
Right on cue, the doorbell rings. A man who looks exactly like Su Muxin walks in. Qu Tong, in total shock, thinks her dead husband has somehow come back to life. She runs at him with the knife. The man doesn't hesitate. He tases her and ties her up.
The Cleanup
An Unlikely Team
When Qu Tong comes to, the man explains everything. He is Su Mufan, Su Muxin's identical twin brother. He's been going by the name Xue Xiaowei. Qu Tong breaks down and confesses. She tells him she poisoned the cups to kill them both but then changed her mind and washed them out. She figures she didn't wash them well enough.
Su Mufan isn't so sure. He points out that Su Muxin brought his own bottle of wine. He tells her she might not be the killer. He convinces her not to call the police. She has the motive and she tried to attack him. They would never believe her. To save herself, she has to help him find the real killer.
Hiding the Body
So, they become partners. Their first task is to get rid of the body. They drag Su Muxin's corpse to the roof and dump it in the water tank. It's a grim job. After that, Qu Tong gives Su Mufan a makeover so he can pass as Su Muxin. They scrub the entire apartment to erase any trace of the crime.
Cops, Clues, and Blackmail
The Police Investigation
The police are still piecing things together. Zhou Mi gets a DNA sample from a relative, Su Guangyao, and learns more about the family's dark past. The twins' father was an abusive alcoholic. Their mother, Chen Li, ran away with Su Muxin, leaving Su Mufan behind with the father. The father later died after drunkenly falling into a ditch.
The investigators also discover that just before college, the boys' mother tried to get Su Mufan officially registered in her village. This means the brothers probably met. The process was never finished. Su Mufan was reported missing, and their mother died shortly after.
A New Threat
Qu Tong returns home to find Fu Wenjiang waiting for her. He mentions that the police are investigating the sodium cyanide. As soon as he leaves, Qu Tong gets a text message. It says, "I know you killed Su Muxin." Another text follows. It's a blackmail demand.
Panicked, Qu Tong rushes out to find Su Mufan. She goes to the massage parlor where he works, but he isn't there. Desperate, she pulls a knife, holds it to her own throat, and forces the owner to call him.
