Spoiler Alert

Fu Wenjiang Gets Pinched

The episode kicks off with Fu Wenjiang in a tough spot. He's been tied up by Chen Shuncai and his crew. While this is happening, his phone gets a call. The same number tries three times. Qu Tong tells Su Muxin that the caller is Zhou Mi, the detective. This is bad news. It means Zhou Mi might be onto Su Muxin's existence.

Qu Tong seems almost relieved. She feels like the biggest mystery of her life is finally solved. She tells Su Muxin to run while he still can. But he knows better. He tells her it's already too late to escape.

A Family Reunion Goes Wrong

Zhou Mi has her own drama to deal with. She gets back to the police station and finds an old couple waiting for her. They are her biological parents. She immediately tries to leave, but the old woman throws herself in front of the car and falls. After a hospital check-up confirms she's okay, Zhou Mi sends them home.

She lays it all out for them. They abandoned her when she was two months old with a serious illness. A police officer found her and took her to an orphanage. Zhou Mi knows exactly why they've shown up now. Their son beat someone up badly and is facing prison time. They want her help. They have nothing to say. Zhou Mi just leaves them there.

The Warehouse Fire

To save his own skin, Fu Wenjiang gives up the photos he took. They show Qu Tong at the cleaning workshop. Su Muxin starts to think Fu Wenjiang isn't the person who moved the body. Just then, an alarm blares. Chen Shuncai says he had to tase Fu Wenjiang because he tried to escape. Su Muxin orders them to wipe down every surface, grab anything they touched, and take Fu Wenjiang with them.

Later, Zhou Mi gets a call about a fire at a deserted warehouse owned by Zhuo'er Jewelry. The fire department has already been through, but investigators find some clues. They discover fibers and drag marks. They also find a tissue with the Jin Yun Hotel logo on it. This leads them to Fu Wenjiang, who had been staying there.

Inside Fu Wenjiang's luggage, they hit the jackpot. They find the original vehicle usage records. Tucked inside is a small paper bag with photo negatives. Once developed, the pictures confirm it. It's Qu Tong, inside the new factory's cleaning workshop.

The Walls Close In

Zhou Mi tries calling Qu Tong, but she doesn't pick up. She then pays a visit to Qu Tong's mother, Shen Jing. Shen Jing seems completely unbothered that her son-in-law, Fu Wenjiang, is missing. Zhou Mi drops the bomb. She tells Shen Jing that Fu Wenjiang is dead and that her daughter, Qu Tong, is a major suspect and could be in danger.

Suddenly, Shen Jing panics when she can't reach Qu Tong on her phone. She starts yelling at Zhou Mi for not finding her daughter faster.

Meanwhile, Chen Shuncai is driving Su Muxin and Fu Wenjiang up a mountain. Fu Wenjiang lets it slip that he got a cigarette from Qu Tong's father. After a stern warning, Su Muxin lets Fu Wenjiang go.

Qu Tong finally turns her phone on and sees texts from her mother. She calls home, and Shen Jing tells her the police are there and she needs to come back. When she arrives, Zhou Mi confirms she's safe before grilling her about Fu Wenjiang. Qu Tong denies knowing anything.

Zhou Mi then reveals that Su Mufan is now the main suspect in Shi Yue's case. Qu Tong defends him, insisting he didn't kill anyone and that Shi Yue's death was an accident. She also makes it clear that she didn't kill anyone either.

A Tangled Web

Zhang Dongliang gives Zhou Mi an update. Fu Wenjiang is back at his hotel. He also found out that the person who signed for the vehicle was Qu Tong's father, Qu Lijun. When asked, Shen Jing claims to know nothing about what her husband does. But as soon as the police leave, she calls Qu Lijun and tells him to get out of town.

Fu Wenjiang's story is weak. He claims his phone died and the ligature marks on his wrists are from a "game" with his girlfriend. He says Qu Lijun was the one who told him to alter the vehicle records. Zhou Mi has done her homework. She knows Fu Wenjiang is a gambler. She tells him he's facing penalties for that, but if he cooperates and gives them something useful, he might get a deal.
