Episode Summary
Qu Tong sets a trap for Fu Wenjiang to get evidence, leading to a warehouse confrontation where the real Su Muxin saves her and reveals his identity. We learn that after a head injury blinded him, his mother had his brother, Su Mufan, take his place. Su Muxin also reveals that Shi Yue (Hao Meili) was responsible for his injury and her subsequent death was an accident. Flashbacks show Qu Tong being forced to marry the imposter Su Mufan for business reasons, despite her suspicions that he wasn't the man she loved.

The Set-Up
Catching a Rat
The episode kicks off with Qu Tong laying a perfect trap. She's got a burner phone hidden in her bag, and she uses it to listen in on Fu Wenjiang. The police have a guy from Zhuo'er Jewelry call Fu Wenjiang first. They ask him about the original vehicle records. Fu Wenjiang gets cocky. He tells the guy not to worry and admits he's using the car himself out in Yunzhou.
This is where Qu Tong makes her move. She calls Fu Wenjiang directly and says she wants the evidence. He plays dumb at first. But then he finds the hidden phone in his bag and realizes he's been caught. The act drops. He tells her straight up she's not getting the evidence. So, Qu Tong ups the offer by another hundred thousand. That gets his attention. He agrees to meet at the old Zhuo'er warehouse.
The Police Investigation
While this is happening, Zhou Mi and Wu Dong are in Yunzhou. They're digging into the old story about Su Mufan falling into the water. Back at the station, Zhou Mi's parents are causing a huge scene, demanding to see him. It's a mess.
The cops confirm that Zhuo'er Jewelry did have a Toyota Camry. But someone messed with the vehicle usage logs. The original records are missing. Zhang Dongliang tells Zhou Mi that the guy who has them is Fu Wenjiang.
The Yunzhou Connection
A Doctor's Memory
This is where the story really cracks open. Zhou Mi talks to the head of the emergency department at the Yunzhou hospital. The doctor remembers a case from years ago. A young boy came in with a severe head injury that caused total blindness. It had nothing to do with a drowning.
The boy was unconscious when he arrived. A nurse found a student ID on him and registered him under that name. The kid's mom showed up later and didn't correct it. It was only when they were about to be discharged that the mother insisted the name was wrong and demanded the hospital change it.
The Switched Identities
The doctor remembers it clearly because it was so strange. The injured boy was the older brother. But the student ID belonged to the younger brother. The names were something "Xin" and something "Fan."

The Warehouse Confrontation
The Truth Comes Out
Qu Tong goes to the warehouse with the money. Fu Wenjiang shows up, just like he said. She asks for the evidence, but he refuses to hand it over. She threatens to call the police. He drops all pretense and goes for her bag.
Suddenly, Su Mufan appears out of nowhere. He tasers Fu Wenjiang, knocking him out cold. Then he calls Qu Tong's name. The way he says it sends a chill down her spine. It's the exact same way Su Muxin used to say her name in high school.
She asks him why he's helping her, but he doesn't answer. She steps closer and yanks a cord from around his neck. A ring falls into her hand. It's one of the two rings Su Muxin made for them back in the day. It has "MX" engraved on it.
He's the Real Su Muxin
Facing her questions, he finally admits it. He is the real Su Muxin.
We get a flashback. After Su Muxin was blinded by the injury, his mother, Chen Li, made a decision. She had his brother, Su Mufan, take his place and go to university as him.
Qu Tong is heartbroken. She asks him how he lost his sight. He tells her the story. That day, he was on his way to meet her. He was walking through a small alley when something thrown from a building above hit him in the head. He lost consciousness. Much later, he was at Shi Yue's house and heard her scream after seeing a cockroach. It was the exact same scream he heard right before he was hit.
The Final Pieces
The Shi Yue Connection
Su Muxin says he confronted Shi Yue about it. He asked her if she was the person on the roof that day. The question terrified her. It triggered a severe asthma attack. He tried to find her medicine to help her, but he couldn't see. By the time he found it, it was too late.
Qu Tong connects the final dot. She tells him that Shi Yue's real name is Hao Meili. And the person Shi Yue was trying to hit that day wasn't a stranger. It was her. The yellow umbrella Su Muxin was carrying was a gift from Qu Tong.
A Forced Marriage
Zhou Mi's investigation is also catching up. He realizes Qu Tong has been married to the wrong brother for years. He theorizes she wants to end everything, which finally gives her a clear motive.
We see more flashbacks. Qu Tong's father was having trouble with the business license for Zhuo'er Jewelry. Her mother, Shen Jing, tried to set her up on a blind date. Qu Tong refused, saying she had a boyfriend named Su Muxin. Her father was thrilled. It turns out Su Muxin was the deputy section chief who could solve his business problems.
But even then, Qu Tong knew something was wrong with the man she was with. He had no reaction to the ring on his hand, the one they promised they would never lose. Despite her gut feelings, her parents pushed her into the marriage. After they were married, she was physically repulsed by his touch. The imposter, Su Mufan, even manipulatively gave her the yellow umbrella from their past to try and win her over.
