Love in Pavilion: Episode 6 Recap & Spoilers

Alright, so things are getting spicy. We kick off with Qing Mu Yuan, who's basically the intel gatherer for our masked squad, feeding info to Wangquan Hong Ye. Just as Hong Ye suspected, even though Nangong Ye kicked the bucket, the Nangong family is far from weak. Nangong Chui is already digging into Mu Xiao Wu's past, pulling his files from the Investigation Department (Ji Cha Si). Hong Ye? Totally unfazed. He actually sees this as a golden opportunity to use the Nangong family's meddling to clean house and get rid of some problematic people within the department. Strategic, right?

Meanwhile, Wangquan Zui is playing matchmaker hardcore. She sees how incredibly nice Dongfang Huai Zhu is to her sister, Dongfang Qin Lan (like, buying her a fancy bracelet on a whim!), and she's convinced Huai Zhu needs to be her sister-in-law. Later, Qing Mu Yuan, ever the sharp one, points out that once Huai Zhu and Hong Ye leave the relative safety of the Ruyi Pavilion (Ru Yi Lou), they're bound to run into trouble and maybe some misunderstandings. She suggests they stop bottling things up and maybe, you know, talk? Like adults? She nudges them towards a meeting at the Star-Gazing Tower (Guan Xing Lou).

So, up they go to the Star-Gazing Tower for some drinks and celestial views. Huai Zhu toasts Hong Ye twice, pretty formally. Just as Hong Ye is psyching himself up to maybe finally reveal his secret identity (we're guessing the whole "Sword Master" thing), Huai Zhu cuts him off. Ouch. She downs a third cup, says her goodbyes, and walks off without a backward glance, leaving Hong Ye looking seriously bummed out. Double ouch.

After that awkward tower rendezvous, everyone's feeling differently. Wangquan Zui fesses up that the meeting was her idea (and apparently, she grabbed the wrong talisman thingy - minor detail, maybe?). Surprisingly, Hong Ye isn't mad; he actually thanks her. He knows bigger problems are brewing, especially with potential trouble from other powerful families during Yang Yan and Mu Xiao Wu's upcoming wedding. He's got plans to handle that, but as for the personal stuff with Huai Zhu... he figures he'll just have to let things play out naturally.

Wedding day arrives! Yang Yan looks stunning in her wedding attire, and Huai Zhu personally helps her with her hairpins, telling her to just focus on being a bride and not worry about anything else. Famous last words, right? Because BAM! Nangong Chui crashes the party with his goons, claiming that a pangolin demon (Chu Jing) – one that Mu Xiao Wu (using his other name, Mu Ren Zhi) supposedly let go – has murdered someone. Mu Xiao Wu is shocked, insisting that Chu Jing was gentle and would never kill anyone.

Since Nangong Chui can't actually produce the alleged killer demon, Wangquan Hong Ye steps in. He promises to go capture the real culprit himself. But until he gets back, he lays down the law: Nangong Chui is forbidden from touching the Yang family or Mu Xiao Wu.

Wangquan Zui stays behind at the Yang residence to make sure Nangong Chui doesn't pull any fast ones. Since this mess directly involves Yang Yan, Dongfang Huai Zhu decides to go with Wangquan Hong Ye to hunt down the killer. Back at the wedding venue, Nangong Chui tries to bully and bribe Yang Huan Zhou into handing over Mu Xiao Wu, but Yang Yi Tan thankfully intervenes. Wangquan Zui and Yang Yi Tan team up to kick Nangong Chui out. Nursing his bruised ego, Nangong Chui immediately starts plotting revenge, ordering his men to find any excuse to shut down the Yang family's sand mine. More importantly, he orders his lackeys to find the real killer demon first and eliminate it – ensuring there's no one left to contradict his story. Classic "dead men tell no tales" strategy.

Now for the cool part: Wangquan Hong Ye takes Dongfang Huai Zhu to the legendary Ruyi Pavilion (Ru Yi Lou). Huai Zhu's heard the name – it's famous – but she's never seen the real deal. This place is the hub of the Qing Mu family's intelligence network, which uses their silver shops spread everywhere as information nodes. Inside, everyone's wearing black veils, bustling around efficiently but silently. Very mysterious spy vibes.

In the center is a unique "water platform" (Shui Tai), and apparently, the other eight branches have similar setups. Huai Zhu shows off her own cool skills, using smoke to form written characters (Yu Yan Cheng Zi) and sending out a query. Almost instantly, info flashes back from the other branches. They learn the demon Chu Jing is accused of killing someone on Qian Street in Suzhou and is listed as a major fugitive by the Investigation Department.

They both feel something's fishy – Chu Jing was known to be gentle, so this murder accusation seems off. But Ruyi Pavilion just gathers facts; it doesn't judge or investigate motives. That's up to Huai Zhu and Hong Ye. Thankfully, the Suzhou branch is quick and sends another update, displayed on the water platform: "Suzhou Li Family Dye House" (Su Zhou Li Jia Ran Fang).
