The Murong Family Gets What's Coming
Things kick off with Xia Jingyan arguing with the Empress Dowager Jing. He's trying to make her see reality. He tells her that Xia Jingshi isn't some loyal dog. He's a wolf cub she let loose. Of course, she doesn't listen. She makes a deal with Xia Jingyan instead. She says after the Thousand Autumns Festival, he can do whatever he wants. He actually believes her.
Later, Xia Jingyan gets a letter from Su Sha. He goes to find Feng Xiyang. He finds her crushing flowers to make medicine for his hand. He injured it practicing with a bow for her. The gesture gets to him. He decides to show her the letter he wasn't going to share.
Feng Xiyang sees the handwriting. She knows it's from her brother, Feng Chengyang. She just starts crying. She always believed he was alive, and now she has proof. It's a huge relief.
Feng Chengyang Makes His Move
Speaking of Feng Chengyang, he may look innocent, but he's not playing around. He acts with the full authority of an emperor. He marches right to Zhuang Jingyuan's palace. He demands the Imperial Seal.
She refuses to give it to him. So, he makes a public announcement. He strips Murong Yao and his father of their command over the Imperial Guard. He says anyone who defies the order will be executed. This whole move is designed to clear the path for Feng Suige. You can just see the rage on Zhuang Jingyuan's face.
Feng Suige Settles the Score
Murong Yao hears the news and rushes to see Zhuang Jingyuan. She tells him to calm down. She says his father, Murong Zhong, will handle the Feng Camp and kill Feng Suige. She promises to deal with Feng Chengyang herself.
So, Murong Yao heads home. He arrives to find all of his guards dead. Feng Suige's men have the entire Murong mansion surrounded. He walks inside. The place is littered with bodies. It's clear a brutal fight just happened. He pushes open the doors to the main hall. He sees his father, Murong Zhong, lying dead on the floor.
Feng Suige appears right behind him. He's not here for a cheap shot. He wants to settle this debt fairly. These two were once best friends. Murong Yao's betrayal turned them into bitter enemies. They fight. It's a raw, fist-to-fist brawl. Neither of them holds back.
Murong Yao is just no match for Feng Suige. All the grief over his father's death doesn't make him a better fighter. He loses. Badly. Feng Suige's hatred is just too deep. He beats Murong Yao to death right there in front of his father's corpse. In his last moments, Murong Yao regrets everything. He regrets teaming up with Zhuang Shen. He regrets forcing his loyal father to become a traitor. He knows he caused the downfall of the entire Murong family.
Feng Suige has finally avenged his brothers. But killing the man who was once his best friend takes a toll on him. You can see it weighs on him heavily.
Secrets and Lies in Two Palaces
Feng Suige goes back to the Grand Prince's mansion. Feng Chengyang is already there waiting for him. Feng Suige agrees he won't kill Zhuang Jingyuan. His next plan is to go to Jinxiu. He wants to bring Feng Xiyang home.
Zhuang Jingyuan's World Crumbles
Feng Chengyang goes to see Zhuang Jingyuan. He tells her the Murong father and son have been defeated. But he's not done. He also reveals that he knows the truth about how his own father, Emperor Feng Pingcheng, really died.
Zhuang Jingyuan completely falls apart. She keeps insisting she didn't kill him. She even tries to pin all the blame on the now-dead Murongs. It's a pathetic move. The truth is out, and she can't hide from it anymore.
A Baby Changes Everything
Back in Jinxiu, Feng Xiyang is overjoyed that her brother is alive. She's ready to go back to Su Sha immediately. But right at that moment, she faints. A royal physician is called. He diagnoses her with a "joyful pulse." She's pregnant.
Xia Jingyan is ecstatic. He immediately says he'll make her his Empress. Feng Xiyang shuts that down hard. She says she would rather die than be his Empress. She looks at herself in the mirror. She doesn't even recognize herself anymore. She wonders if she can ever go back to Yujing and be the same Princess Xiyang she once was.
A Desperate Escape Plan

Meanwhile, Fu Yixiao knows a woman named Pei Niang. He uses her as a go-between to get a message to Feng Xiyang inside the palace.
Feng Xiyang Takes a Stand
