Episode Summary
Feng Xiyang makes a final deal with Xia Jingyan but is caught in a trap set by Xia Jingshi. During a violent confrontation, Xia Jingshi stabs both Feng Xiyang and Xia Jingyan, leaving them for dead just as her brother arrives.

A Deal on Borrowed Time
Feng Xiyang has reached her breaking point. She threatens to kill herself to force Xia Jingyan's hand. He finally caves. They make one last deal. She will stay with him through the upcoming Qianqiu Festival. It will be his last birthday with her. After that, he gives her travel papers. She and her brother can finally leave Jinxiu for good.
Feng Xiyang agrees to the terms. But she has one condition first. She needs to see her brother, Feng Suige. Xia Jingyan allows it. He also gives her a warning. Don't even think about using this meeting to escape.
The Sibling Reunion
Feng Suige is a wreck when he hears what happened to his sister. He wants to find Xia Jingshi and kill him. His friend, Fu Yixiao, has to talk him down. He reminds Suige that they are in enemy territory. Their mission is to get Feng Xiyang home to Su Sha, not to start a war.
The two siblings finally get their reunion. Feng Xiyang just breaks down in tears. She apologizes for everything she did in the past. She's just so grateful that her prayers were answered and he is alive. Feng Suige is her brother. That will never change. He is shocked to learn she is pregnant with Xia Jingyan's child. But it doesn't matter. He promises to make everyone who hurt her pay. She tells him not to risk his life for her anymore.
A Ghost from the Past
While the siblings talk, Fu Yixiao and his ally Ning Fei go for a walk. They need to give the brother and sister some space. While they're out, they spot a familiar face. It's Xiao Weiran. They immediately follow him.
The reunion of the "Jinxiu Three" is not a happy one. Xiao Weiran is paranoid. He gets the drop on Ning Fei and holds a knife to his throat. But Fu Yixiao was a step ahead. He appears right behind Xiao Weiran. The three old friends are now enemies. Fu Yixiao decides to let it go for now. He tells Xiao Weiran they are strangers from this day forward. As Xiao Weiran leaves, he seems to have a moment of regret. He tells them to get out of the capital city. Shengjing is not safe.
The Trap Is Sprung
Fu Yixiao rushes back to the inn. He warns Feng Suige that Xiao Weiran's words were serious. Xia Jingshi is still in the city, and he is definitely planning something big. They realize his target is probably Xia Jingyan. That means Feng Xiyang is walking right into a trap. Feng Suige jumps on a horse and rides as fast as he can.
Feng Xiyang leaves a note behind and goes to keep her promise to Xia Jingyan. She has no idea what's waiting for her. The Empress Dowager already ordered all of Xia Jingyan's guards to be reassigned. He is completely unprotected. Xia Jingshi and his men walk right in.
The Birthday Party from Hell
Feng Xiyang arrives to spend the emperor's birthday with him. She tells him her plans. She will raise their child in her homeland of Su Sha. She will never tell the child who the father is. He can't even know when the child is born.
Their conversation is cut short. Xia Jingshi and his men storm the room. Xia Jingyan's first instinct is to shield Feng Xiyang. He knows this is about him. He tells Xia Jingshi to let her go. But Xia Jingshi is the one in charge now. He's not taking orders from anyone.
A Bloodbath
Xia Jingshi has been tortured and is covered in wounds. He says he wants to see Feng Xiyang smile one last time. Through her tears, she gives him a smile that looks more painful than crying. He tells her he hates Xia Jingyan. He also hates her for being with him. He considers it the ultimate shame.
Xia Jingshi raises his sword to kill her. Xia Jingyan completely loses his composure. The emperor drops all his pride. He begs Xia Jingshi to spare her life.
Xia Jingshi doesn't listen. He stabs Feng Xiyang directly in the stomach. Then he turns and kills Xia Jingyan with another strike.
Just then, Feng Suige bursts in. Feng Xiyang is still breathing, but just barely. Fu Yixiao runs off to chase down Xia Jingshi. Feng Suige carries his sister back to the inn, desperate to find a doctor. Xia Jingshi orders his men to remove Xia Jingyan's body. He goes to report to the Empress Dowager Jing. The deed is done.
