Episode Summary

Episode 26 sees the Dong family facing financial and health crises. Dong Erlin's bank card is blocked, and Chen Ling learns her project is a scam. Grandpa Dong collapses after confronting Ma San, requiring urgent surgery. Dong Xin tries to woo Wang Wei, angering Gao Bingbing. Family members struggle to gather funds for Grandpa Dong's operation.

Alright, buckle up, because things are getting real in Green Hills! Episode 26 is a rollercoaster of bad news, near-misses, and family drama that'll leave you breathless.

So, remember how Dong Erlin was all excited to cash in? Yeah, that went south fast. He heads to the bank, only to find out his card's been reported lost. Cue the ominous music! Meanwhile, Sis-in-law Feng, bless her heart, lent Chen Ling her life savings – a whole 30,000! But guess what? Chen Ling gets a call from Feng Qiulan dropping a major bombshell: that whole construction project is a bust! Apparently, it was a rigged bid, and the higher-ups are about to shut it down. Chen Ling, understandably, doesn't want to believe it.

This news hits the Dong family like a ton of bricks. Grandma Dong is freaking out, convinced Grandpa Dong's million-yuan investment is gone for good. Erlin, naturally, is drowning his sorrows at the local watering hole. Big brother Dalin gets the drunken call and hops on his bike to rescue his wayward sibling.

Erlin wakes up at home, full of regret. Grandma Dong suggests he lay low, but Grandpa Dong already knows something's up. In a bizarre subplot, Dong Xin is trying to win Wang Wei's affections (again!). He sees that Gao Bingbing (remember her?) has bought the local flower shop, so he sets off fireworks and sends Wang Wei a portrait (under Dong Peng's name, naturally). Wang Wei is touched, but this just makes Gao Bingbing furious.

Gao Bingbing and her crew corner Dong Xin. Luckily, a friend calls Feng Qiulan, who rushes to the rescue. As she's trying to get Dong Xin out of there, Gao Bingbing tries to attack Dong Xin, but Feng Qiulan takes the hit, twisting her back in the process. Ouch!

Chen Ling, desperate, turns to Ma San for help. But Ma San, being a total creep, tries to take advantage of her! Chen Ling kicks him out of the car, and guess who witnesses the whole thing? Grandpa Dong! He confronts Ma San, who shoves him, causing him to fall and hit his head on a brick wall. The wall collapses! Grandma Dong, worried about her missing husband, calls Dalin, who finds Grandpa Dong unconscious by the rubble.

Meanwhile, Dong Xin is playing the hero, taking Feng Qiulan to the hospital. Back home, Dong Peng isn't exactly grateful, even though Dong Xin was trying to help him with Wang Wei. And to top it all off, Zhang Qianqian is on a hunger strike and collapses from a fever. Zhang Kun and Dong Yan (her parents) rush her to the hospital.

Then, everyone gets a phone call: Grandpa Dong is in the hospital with a heart condition. Erlin is pressuring Chen Ling for money, but she's hiding in her car, crying, and hangs up on him. Grandpa Dong is unconscious in his hospital bed, right next to Zhang Qianqian's room. Dong Yan runs into Feng Qiulan and the rest of the crew in the lobby.

Turns out Grandpa Dong had a heart attack and needs immediate surgery. Dalin decides to use his son's scholarship money (ouch!). Zhang Qianqian refuses to eat, so Grandma Dong comes to the rescue, reminding her granddaughter of their bond. Qianqian finally eats some rice porridge.

Dong Yan tells Dalin and Erlin that Grandpa Dong needs a bypass surgery at a provincial hospital, costing at least 200,000. She says she and her husband are strapped for cash, having just bought a new school district house. Erlin claims Boss Lin's disappearance has messed up his finances. Dalin, understanding but firm, says he'll contribute 100,000, and Erlin and Dong Yan need to come up with 50,000 each.

The next day, Dong Yan confirms with the doctor that surgery is the only option. She pressures Erlin to get the money from Chen Ling, but Erlin reminds her that she also borrowed money from their parents. Dong Yan says she can only scrape together 100,000, leaving Erlin to figure out the remaining 100,000.

So, yeah, things are looking pretty bleak for the Dong family. Will Grandpa Dong get his surgery? Will Chen Ling come clean? And will Erlin ever catch a break? Stay tuned for the next episode!
