Episode Summary
Episode 10 sees new client Lin Kexin choosing Li Lefan over Xia Wanqing as her consultant, sparking office tension and accusations of client-stealing. Li Lefan's initial matchmaking attempts for Lin Kexin, using the Peng Peng Le app, result in disastrous dates, leading Lin Kexin to want to cancel her contract. Meanwhile, Jiang Qiao and Ma Xintian's relationship blossoms as they bond, along with her dog Bawan. However, a major conflict arises when Jiang Qiao's mother has a severe allergic reaction to Bawan and subsequently asks Ma Xintian to give the dog away, forcing her into a difficult choice.

So, the episode kicks off with some serious office tension. New client Lin Kexin arrives at the matchmaking agency, but she gets there before her assigned consultant, Xia Wanqing, clocks in. Li Lefan steps in to greet her. After chatting with Li Lefan, Lin Kexin gets a good vibe and decides she actually wants Li Lefan to be her consultant instead.
Naturally, when Xia Wanqing finally walks in and sees Li Lefan schmoozing with her potential client, she immediately assumes Li Lefan is trying to steal her business. The raised voices attract the boss, Qin Tianyue, who comes out to see what's up. He smooths things over temporarily by taking Lin Kexin into his office.
Inside, Lin Kexin makes it official: she signs a new contract and specifically requests Li Lefan. Qin Tianyue, putting the client first, agrees and assigns Li Lefan to the case. When Xia Wanqing finds out, she is furious. She feels like Qin Tianyue is constantly favoring Li Lefan, and this is just another example. Later, Li Lefan tries to make peace with Xia Wanqing, explaining it was the client's choice and even offering her the commission. But Xia Wanqing isn't having any of it, seeing the offer as mere "charity" and rejecting it flat out. Oof, the workplace drama is real!
Meanwhile, Li Lefan gets started trying to find matches for Lin Kexin. The results? Well, let's just say they're less than stellar. Lin Kexin goes on a series of disastrous dates:
- There's an arrogant band singer named Zhang Wanle.
- A poet who's so out there, Lin Kexin can't even understand him.
- Multiple guys who basically judge her for being 36 and still single, implying something must be wrong with her.
- A doctor who expects her to become a full-time housewife if they were to get together.
It turns out these "matches" were generated using that dating app software Cheng Xu developed, called Peng Peng Le (literally "Touch Touch Fun," maybe?), based on Lin Kexin's profile. With each failed date, Lin Kexin gets more and more ticked off. She feels like she's just being used as a test subject for their app and that Li Lefan is totally wasting her time. Fed up, she decides to terminate her contract.
Li Lefan tries her best to change Lin Kexin's mind, but she won't budge. In a bit of a panic, Li Lefan goes to Qin Tianyue for help. His advice? Try to persuade Lin Kexin to upgrade her membership level, arguing that a higher tier will give her access to better quality male members. Li Lefan agrees to give it a shot, though she doesn't seem too confident it'll work.
On a much brighter note, things are progressing nicely between Jiang Qiao and Ma Xintian! Jiang Qiao seems genuinely fond of her adorable dog, Bawan, and major brownie points – he's read nearly all of Ma Xintian's novels. He learns that she hasn't really traveled much because she worries about leaving Bawan alone. So, being the thoughtful guy he is, Jiang Qiao plans an outing for all three of them.
They have a wonderful time outdoors, playing together (Bawan included!), and even watch the sunrise. All this quality time deepens their connection, and they officially become a couple! Things move quickly, and Jiang Qiao takes Ma Xintian and Bawan to meet his mother.
Initially, Mom seems quite taken with both Ma Xintian and the cute pup. But then, disaster strikes. It turns out Jiang Qiao's mom has a severe pet allergy – so severe that she has an asthma attack right then and there! Ma Xintian feels incredibly guilty, though Jiang Qiao reassures her it wasn't her fault since she didn't know about the allergy.
However, the drama isn't over. Once Jiang Qiao's mom recovers and is out of the hospital, she sits Ma Xintian down for a serious talk. Her request is a bombshell: she wants Ma Xintian to give Bawan away. Ma Xintian is absolutely heartbroken and angry. She explains that Bawan is family to her, not just a pet. She tells the mom that forcing her to choose between Jiang Qiao and Bawan is incredibly cruel and unfair.
So, Episode 10 leaves us hanging with some major cliffhangers! Will Li Lefan convince Lin Kexin to upgrade, or will she lose the client? And poor Ma Xintian is caught in an impossible situation – will she be forced to choose between her beloved dog and her new boyfriend? Looks like we'll have to keep watching to see how this all unfolds!
