Episode 11 Recap & Spoilers: The Fallout

So, our investigators, Lin Zhi Tao and Bai En Yu, dug deeper into the school video scandal and confirmed we've got two main players causing trouble: Tian Jun, the kid actually filming the explicit videos (super gross, right?), and another student, Zhen Rong, who was running the online group chat and collecting "membership fees."

Now, here's where the legal stuff gets a bit frustrating, especially from Bai En Yu's perspective. Tian Jun, despite his disgusting actions, basically gets a slap on the wrist. Because his offense falls under violating public order regulations, he's released. Yeah, Bai En Yu thinks that's way too light, but hey, the law is the law. Zhen Rong, on the other hand, is in much deeper trouble. He's potentially facing serious jail time for distributing obscene materials – that's a criminal offense.

Predictably, the school expels Tian Jun. But does his family take it lying down? Nope. Tian Jun's dad barges into the school, trying everything from threats to sob stories to pressure the administration into letting his son graduate anyway. When a group of brave female students shows up demanding accountability for the victims, Tian Jun Sr. dramatically pretends to faint to diffuse the situation. Seriously.

Right on cue, Bai En Yu arrives. He instantly gets the picture, makes a quick call to Lin Zhi Tao, and manages to calm the students down, reminding them they have classes to get back to. Once they leave, Tian Jun's dad miraculously recovers. Bai En Yu, trying to find a way forward without completely caving, proposes a deal: if Tian Jun writes a sincere apology letter, and if the victims he harmed agree to sign it, showing they forgive him, then the school might consider letting him back.

While Tian Jun reluctantly starts drafting his apology, Lin Zhi Tao and Bai En Yu head over to Zhen Rong's house for a home visit. It's tense. Zhen Rong's mom is absolutely livid and deeply ashamed of her son's actions. Zhen Rong himself is already in custody, waiting to be sentenced. Lin Zhi Tao and Bai En Yu are trying to help his case with the court and facilitate a meeting between Zhen Rong and his mom.

At the detention center, seeing her son in the standard-issue blue vest initially makes Zhen Rong's mom want to walk out again. But Lin Zhi Tao pulls her aside, urging her to calm down. She explains that teenagers are naturally curious, especially during puberty, and maybe Zhen Rong's reasons for starting the group weren't purely about spreading filth. She convinces the mom to go back and actually listen to her son.

While Lin Zhi Tao is reasoning with the mom, Bai En Yu talks to Zhen Rong to understand why he started the group. It turns out Zhen Rong grew up under incredibly strict, suffocating control. His mom had surveillance cameras everywhere in the house and wouldn't even let him close his bedroom door. Living under that kind of pressure cooker environment, he inevitably rebelled. Some classmates found out he had access to explicit videos and asked to see them. To make sharing easier, he started the group chat, initially just for a dozen or so guys in his class. But then they started adding more people. Zhen Rong didn't ask for money at first, but as the group grew, people started sending him tips ("red envelopes") to encourage him to post more.

Zhen Rong, who had always felt invisible at school, suddenly found himself being called "Big Brother" and getting showered with attention and respect. He craved that feeling. He started using the tip money, and even dipped into his own funds, to buy more videos to keep his newfound popularity going.

This context changes things. Since his primary motive wasn't profit (he actually lost money on it) and was more about seeking validation he lacked at home, Lin Zhi Tao argues his case effectively. The court agrees to a more lenient sentence: probation (a suspended sentence). Back home, his mom tells him to start fresh and live an honest life.

Now, back to Tian Jun. He takes his apology letter to one of the victims, a girl named Xia Qiu. She flat-out refuses to sign it or forgive him, and she won't accept any monetary compensation either. Good for her. As a result, Tian Jun is officially expelled from school.

But this isn't the end. Filled with resentment over being rejected and expelled, Tian Jun decides to get revenge on Xia Qiu. He manages to lure her to a secluded, abandoned factory... uses ether to knock her unconscious... and drags her away.

And that's where Episode 11 leaves us! A seriously dark turn and a major cliffhanger. What has Tian Jun done? Is Xia Qiu okay? We'll have to tune in next time to find out!
