Episode Summary
With Sun Yaokuan gone, Sander tasks Luka with seducing Xie Xiaoman to access her father, Xie Guangshen, who works at the Nuclear Power Institute No. 2, hoping to steal computer data. Meanwhile, Duke and Shirley aim to distract Guoan (National Security). Guoan tightens security around Sun's computer and surveillance on Sander's team. Sander, Duke, and Shirley execute a decoy escape to Switzerland, with body doubles taking their place on the flight while the real Duke and Shirley return to Yanping. Luka learns Xie Guangshen's access card has a reverse-lookup function, forcing them to abandon their initial plan. Luka then enacts Plan B: he takes Xie Xiaoman to the mountains, drugs her, and meets Duke and Shirley to equip them. Duke and Shirley then paraglide into the Nuclear Power Institute No. 2, aiming to exploit a brief three-minute window during a security shift change to interfere with surveillance.
Spoiler Alert
Alright, so with Sun Yaokuan now permanently out of the picture, the big question is: how to get their hands on the goodies stashed in his computer? Sander, our resident puppet master, is pretty confident that computer will be back online soon. His brilliant idea? Get Luka to use his, uh, charms on Xie Xiaoman. The goal is to get close to her old man, Xie Guangshen, who just so happens to be in charge of logistics and transport at the Nuclear Power Institute No. 2. If they can get him on their side, or at least exploit his access, they might just be able to snatch those precious files. Meanwhile, Duke and Shirley are on distraction duty – their job is to keep Guoan (that's National Security, for those not in the know) looking the other way.
Now, with the big showdown between Mo Si and Hua Ze only three days away, Guoan's Third Division is understandably on edge. Their top priorities: protect Sun Yaokuan's computer like it's the crown jewels and tighten the leash on Sander, Duke, and Shirley. When Liu Xinnian and Ou Qihong show up to collect the computer, Yang Guang and his team have a special surprise for them: a super-secure box designed to block every conceivable physical and electromagnetic wave. No sneaky remote data copying on their watch!
Li Jian and his crew are tasked with tailing the transport convoy. They spot a suspicious white car, but it zips off at a crossroads. Little do they know, Luka is behind the wheel. Once Ou Qihong confirms he's safely at the Nuclear Power Institute No. 2, Luka puts his plan into motion and calls up Xie Xiaoman. After a whirlwind of intense emotional manipulation and love-bombing, Xie Xiaoman is completely head-over-heels and, yep, they end up sleeping together.
Back with Sander, he notices Guoan agents swarming his neighborhood. So, what does he do? Buys a bunch of ski equipment and books three one-way tickets to Switzerland. The Third Division agents follow Sander, Shirley, and Duke all the way to the airport, watch them check their luggage, and go through security. Yang Guang even gets on the horn to his Guoan colleagues in Zurich, giving them a heads-up.
But here’s the kicker: right before boarding, Shirley and Duke duck into the restrooms. When "they" emerge, they're actually two different people of similar height and build, cleverly disguised with hats and masks. Yang Guang and his team don't clock the switcheroo immediately. And the real Shirley and Duke? They're already on a plane, heading right back to Yanping. Smooth move, guys, real smooth.
Luka, ever the charmer, suggests to Xie Xiaoman that he’d love to meet her parents. She’s thrilled, of course, and brings him home the very next day. At the dinner table, Luka spots some spicy kimchi on a cabinet and correctly deduces that Xie Guangshen is from Jidong. He then proceeds to wow Papa Xie with his encyclopedic knowledge of his hometown – all thanks to some thorough prior research, naturally. Xie Guangshen is thoroughly impressed.
After a few drinks, Luka casually starts asking about Xie Guangshen’s job. Xie Guangshen, completely oblivious and seeing a potential son-in-law, proudly whips out his access card, even boasting that it has a reverse-lookup function. Record scratch! This is a major spanner in the works. Luka immediately reports back to Sander: Plan A is officially toast. If they try to use Xie Guangshen as their way in, that reverse-lookup feature will trace everything back to him, and then straight to them.
So, Luka tells Duke and Shirley to switch to Plan B. He takes Xie Xiaoman on a "romantic getaway" to the mountains – hiking, enjoying the views, and sneakily snapping photos of the Nuclear Power Institute No. 2. That night, Luka slips a sedative into Xie Xiaoman's drink. Once she's fast asleep, he drives to a rendezvous point halfway up the mountain to meet Duke and Shirley, providing them with all the necessary gear. His instructions are clear: once the job is done, they need to get to a location he'll send to their phones. He'll pick them up there in twelve hours.
Luka speeds off, leaving Duke and Shirley to their mission. They hike to the summit, use their gadgets to calculate distances and altitudes, then suit up in wingsuits and paraglide down into the forest near the Nuclear Power Institute. As they get closer, Shirley detects surveillance cameras. They cleverly wait for the security guard shift change to interfere with the equipment. The catch? They've only got a three-minute window. Talk about pressure!
