Spoiler Alert
Things kicked off with Hong Yan getting seriously spooked by Zheng Qiu's escalating arrogance and unhinged behavior. Despite her unease, she still tried to plead with Zheng Qiu to keep Liu Zhendong safe. Zheng Qiu, however, was playing it cool, or rather, coy, saying it all depended on whether Liu Zhendong was truly loyal. Meanwhile, Liu Suibian told A Gui Sao she was heading out to check on the tea shop's business and, conveniently, swing by the hospital to see Cheng Nanping.
At the hospital, Liu Suibian dropped a bombshell on Cheng Nanping: she and Liu Zhendong have a son together. This revelation completely flipped Cheng Nanping's script. Suddenly, Liu Suibian wasn't a rival anymore. Cheng Nanping genuinely accepted Liu Zhendong as an "older brother" figure and started calling Liu Suibian "Da Sao" (older sister-in-law) with respect. But the drama didn't stop there. Some foreigners showed up at the tea shop, specifically asking for Liu Suibian to make their tea. Before anyone knew what was happening, they snatched her, leaving behind a letter directing Liu Zhendong to meet them at the exact spot where Steven was murdered.
Liu Zhendong, never one to back down, went to the rendezvous alone. He found Liu Suibian tied up on a rooftop, with the foreigner flanked by two pretty tough-looking bodyguards. Unfazed, Liu Zhendong took them both on. He even pulled a classic move, pretending to be knocked out before springing back up and taking down the two goons. The foreigner, now terrified, whipped out a gun. But he hesitated, clearly intimidated by Liu Zhendong's double-whammy status as both a special anti-crime task force member and part of the Shanhai Gang. He started begging for his life, but Liu Zhendong wasn't having it and sent him flying off the building. Yikes.
Safely back home with Liu Suibian, Liu Zhendong didn't get an earful from Hong Yan. Instead, she praised him, saying he had the same guts Liu Xiongwu had back in the day. She then decided Liu Zhendong and Liu Suibian should get married ASAP. Hong Yan also gave Liu Suibian some heartfelt advice: cherish a man who’s willing to die for you; some men don't say "I love you" with words, but with their actions, and that's a man worth committing your life to.
Soon after, Cheng Nanping's report exonerating Cheng Hui made waves across Shicheng, and the public started to believe in Cheng Hui's innocence. Then, Zheng Qiu and James approached Liu Zhendong with a proposal: a public interrogation of Cheng Hui, right across from the Shanhai Gang's turf. Liu Zhendong readily agreed. But it's clear there's still bad blood; James is still fuming that he couldn't get rid of Liu Zhendong, while Zheng Qiu seems to think Liu Zhendong still has his uses.
