Spoiler Alert
First off, we’ve got Guan Xu at home, trying his best to butter up Zhao Dongcheng. You know how it is, that awkward dance when you’re trying to get on someone’s good side. Zhao Dongcheng, being the sharp guy he is, totally sees an opportunity to mess with Guan Xu a little. He casually drops the question, "Hey, you like Yu Shi, don't you?" Poor Guan Xu just freezes, completely caught off guard! Zhao Dongcheng can't help but chuckle, reassuring him it's no big deal. Classic.
Meanwhile, over at the hospital, there’s a bit of a situation with Dr. Qi, a re-hired older doctor. She’s a seasoned pro, but the hospital's new-fangled computer system is giving her a run for her money. Director Cheng, trying to be helpful, assigns Xiao Chen to assist her. However, Xiao Chen isn't exactly thrilled. She's been grumbling that Dr. Qi is messing up the system records and, get this, even prescribed antibiotics to a child – something Xiao Chen, not being a medical professional herself, could only follow orders on.
Naturally, Xiao Chen’s behind-the-scenes complaints about Dr. Qi reach Zhao Dongcheng’s ears. He gently reminds her and her colleagues that gossiping isn't cool, especially since doctors and nurses are supposed to be a team. Good on him for stepping in! Zhao Dongcheng then asks Xiao Chen for the contact info of the patient’s family Dr. Qi prescribed medication to, wanting to check things out himself.
Feeling the pressure and perhaps her own limitations with modern office tech, Dr. Qi approaches Director Zhou to request retirement. She admits she knows she’s been causing trouble for her younger colleagues. Director Zhou isn't keen on letting her go, but Dr. Qi seems pretty set on it.
When Xiao Chen finds out Dr. Qi is actually retiring, she has a total change of heart and feels awful. She buys Dr. Qi a milk tea as a peace offering and apologizes. Dr. Qi, ever gracious, tells her the retirement decision had nothing to do with Xiao Chen and was something she’d already discussed with Director Zhou.
Then comes the hospital’s team-building day! You know these things are always ripe for a little drama. Shen Xinxin, unhappy with the pre-assigned groups, starts wheeling and dealing with his buddies to switch things up. After all the shuffling, Zhang Jun ends up being the only one heading to the team-building event in the first batch, all by himself. He plays it cool, saying it’s fine, but deep down, you can tell he really wants to be with everyone else. He’s just too reserved to say so.
Before heading off, Zhang Jun also arranges with his child, Yi Yi, to go to their grandparents' place during the team-building event, and Yi Yi is super understanding. So, on the day, Zhang Jun is there, moving stuff, probably feeling a bit lonely, when suddenly Zhao Dongcheng and the rest of the crew show up! Turns out, Zhao Dongcheng had a quiet word with Director Zhou and managed to get their group assigned with Zhang Jun. Seeing everyone arrive, Zhang Jun is absolutely beaming – his face just lights up! It’s a sweet moment.
In other news, Shi Laoshi is doing much better and has returned home from the hospital. Xiao Xia has arranged for a male caregiver to help out. When her grandpa needs to use the restroom, Xiao Xia wants to assist, but he gently refuses her help. Now that her grandfather is back, Xiao Xia is also planning to contact Zhao Dongcheng about bringing A Gui (presumably a pet or someone they care for) back. But surprise, surprise, Zhao Dongcheng is already at their doorstep! Xiao Xia gets A Gui settled and then chats with Zhao Dongcheng, who even calls out a greeting to Shi Laoshi in the bathroom from the living room.
Finally, a little something for the shippers (or anti-shippers?). Yu Shi has a follow-up check-up at another hospital. It’s revealed that for years, Zhao Dongcheng has made a habit of swapping shifts with colleagues so he can accompany her to these appointments. As they’re heading back to their own hospital, it starts to rain. Zhao Dongcheng, ever prepared, has an umbrella, and the two of them share it. Wouldn’t you know it, Guan Xu, who’s just seen off a patient, spots them. Seeing Zhao Dongcheng and Yu Shi so close under that one umbrella, looking a bit too cozy for his liking, definitely leaves Guan Xu feeling a little… off. You can almost see the gears turning in his head.
