Abyss Dweller Finale: The Final Gambit

The grand finale of "Abyss Dweller" kicks off with a high-stakes gambit at the Peace Conference. As Mizuho Genxin delivers a speech on "Greater East Asian Co-Prosperity," Liang Shuo, disguised as a journalist, infiltrates the venue. Unable to stomach the propaganda, Liang Shuo publicly confronts Mizuho, accusing him of the atrocities committed on their soil. The outburst causes an uproar, and Liang Shuo is swiftly captured.

Mizuho, however, is suspicious. He can't believe Liang Shuo would act alone and suspects a larger trap. His instincts prove correct; he realizes the special train from Nanjing is a likely target and immediately rushes to intercept it. But it's too late. Liang Shuo's partner, Old Tan, and his team have already set an ambush, successfully blowing up the train.

Back at the conference, Director Li suddenly collapses and dies. It's revealed that Mizuho had poisoned him with a slow-acting agent during a dinner two days prior. Liang Shuo's plan was a multi-pronged attack: the confrontation was a diversion, the train was a secondary target, and the real objective was something else entirely. After killing his guards, Liang Shuo escapes. Mizuho, realizing he's been outmaneuvered, deduces the true target: the Qingshan Refugee Camp.

Chaos erupts at the camp as Liang Shuo activates a pre-recorded broadcast, instructing the refugees to evacuate westward toward a designated safe point. He then reveals his trump card to a furious Mizuho. In the now-empty broadcast room, he has displayed photos from the negatives of "The List," proving that as long as he has the negatives, Mizuho's copy of the list is worthless.

Enraged, Mizuho orders a massive manhunt. Liang Shuo, using pre-laid traps, decimates Mizuho's forces before facing him one-on-one. In a desperate final confrontation, Mizuho hysterically demands the negatives. Instead, Liang Shuo uses his last ounce of strength to detonate a bomb, engulfing them both. As he loses consciousness, he hears the triumphant sound of his comrades arriving. In a final vision, he sees himself before Yan Jiu, the Maple Leaf emblem fluttering in the breeze, reporting that Operation Abyss Dweller is complete.

In the aftermath, Old Tan successfully links up with their allies from the labor camp. Meanwhile, Takagi, who had received Mizuho's now-useless list, faces the consequences of a failed military operation and commits suicide. Far away in the Northern Jiangsu base, Xie Nianci is still recovering. In a surprising twist, it's revealed that Jiang Feiman survived and has been secretly working in the region, all while caring for the unconscious Xie Nianci.

One year later, Liang Shuo returns to Shanghai. Though he walks with a limp from the injuries he sustained, his resolve is unbroken as he continues to walk the path of his convictions.
