The episode opens at a kindergarten recital, where Li Yan is playing the piano for a children's choir. In the audience, Lin Yi is completely captivated, his eyes fixed on her. The quiet moment is broken when his ex-wife, Gu Nan, pointedly sits beside him. Lin Yi is visibly annoyed. Watching him stare at Li Yan, Gu Nan mutters to herself that she divorced him too soon, lamenting that she should have stuck around to torment him longer. Observing the entire scene from a discreet corner is Qin Yang, quietly taking in the complex dynamic between the three.
After the performance, as everyone gathers for a group photo, whispers ripple through a group of parents who recognize Li Yan as the "murderer's daughter." Unfazed by the gossip, Lin Yi’s gaze follows Li Yan, and for a moment, he sees the teenage girl he once knew. A Sister's Shocking Revelation
Li Yan confronts Li Meng, demanding to know how she knew their mother, Li Xiulan, was a killer. The conversation that follows shatters Li Yan's world. However, he remains deeply perplexed as to why a high-powered lawyer like Lin Yi would take on Li Xiulan's case, knowing she could never afford his fees.
